This is a sad day for Karoo Flavours. Due to the non-payment by the Beyers Naude Municipality of their ESKOM account, our bulk electricity supply is being reduced to 10hrs per day from next week.Availability(8pm to 6 am).This completely undermines our ability to produce quality food. Our freezing capacity will be interrupted and our quality cannot be maintained.So until further notice, we are forced to cease operations.
While Eskom and the Beyers Naude Municipality fight their credit fight the law-abiding citizens, who use only pre-paid electricity are held captive. We cannot earn an income, children cannot attend schools, water will dry up in the town and the lights will be kept off. How does any company allow its creditors to reach a point of no return?The municipality owes Eskom R95 million!!
