CL range
This week Oldenburg released their CL range, so glad I was able to taste their entry level wines.
If you thought this is just every other entry level white & red blends, think again. Oldenburg continues their theme of well balanced wines
What I also love about this wine is the thought process that went into crafting the back labels. Really appeals to the inner wine gig in me, but also gives those who just enjoy wine some insights into the elements involved in producing these wines in a simplified scientific way.

2017 CL White Blend
63% Chenin Blanc, 27% Chardonnay
I really liked the white blend thought it had good level of acidity, freshness with a touch of sweetness. Definitely a must for an everyday wine. The versatility in style and sweetness allows the Chenin Blanc variety to to adapt to a wide variety of taste. However the touch of sweetness comes from the Chardonnay variety
Colour: pale-straw colour, but I think the two varieties marry well here.
Smell: green apple, lemon, peach, apple blossom, lemon verbena, some passion fruit
Taste: medium-high acidity, minerals style brings out the dryness, low to none tannins, with a touch of honey sweetness.
Fine thoughts: I would need to taste it again as I had so many delicious wines before tasting this, so I give it 2.5/5 ⭐️⭐️

2017 CL Red Blend
87% Syrah, 13% Merlot
I’d need to revisit this one. I mean I had all the good stuff from Oldenburg so I’d need to revisit this one.
Will give an update on this very soon... @ Oldenburg Vineyards
