ABOUT KNORHOEK ESTATE
The fabulous fertile foothills of Simonsberg Mountain hold the original farm previously known as Kleygat (Clay-hole), now known as Knorhoek. 1793 most of the land in the valley was acquired by Martin Melck, the original owner of Knorhoek, The Cape Mountain Lion, now extinct, used to roam the land preying on the livestock on the farm, hence the use of the lion on Knoerhoek Estate wine labels. There are still other big cat sightings, of Caracal and Leopard, in the surrounding mountains

Knorhoek today is a sought after location to visit in a stunning setting with a lot to offer wine lovers. You can take part in a hiking trails in the morning or at sunset where you have the opportunity to walk through the vineyards and experience where the wine making begins. Relaxed and comfortable family accommodation is available along with our tasting room with friendly, helpful staff and enjoy a fantastic selection of wine and cheese with your friends and family.
