Katy’s Palace Bar is a different kettle of fish altogether. It has been said that one step through the door of Katy’s will take you very, very far, into a place where the exotic complements the old, where otherworldliness is highlighted by a spectacular backdrop of Sandton skyline. This beautiful open space can be used for big-impression cocktail parties, corporate events or more intimate sit-down affairs. Be our guest, and bring your guests. A unique venue of palatial proportions, Katy’s offers an eclectic mix of furnishings and décor, fine arts and artefacts from across the globe, everything that you need to transform your event and transport your guests to another place and time, or wherever the whim takes you. SIR JAMES VAN DER MERWE
Sir James van der Merwe took it upon himself to go on a gentleman’s quest to find the perfect place to enjoy a drink. He travelled near and far, but in the end he knew that if he were to find the best, he would need to open his own bar. The space he created is eclectic and inviting, a worldly cocktail of treasured trinkets from his travels with a shot of local flair. Sir James is not one to stay still, he is rather vibrant and energetic whether he is hosting a club night party or inviting his friends for a game of billiards.
