This classic Johannesburg garden was laid out in 1945 and features magnificent trees including a colossal Water Oak believed to be one of the largest trees in Johannesburg. The Greigs have created a rainforest, a water garden comprising six ponds and a bog, a colonnade, a formal rose garden, a lotus garden and a sunken vegetable garden.

🌿 A Garden with History

This classic three-and-a-half-acre Johannesburg garden was laid out in 1945 by legendary landscape architect Joane Pym and features magnificent trees, including a colossal Water Oak believed to be the largest tree in Johannesburg.

The renaissance of this tranquil sanctuary has been a labour of love for Christopher and Susan Greig since they acquired Beechwood some 20 years ago.

Today, Susan’s touch can be found throughout Beechwood, from the thoughtful décor and styling of each event to the food served to guests. Her eye for detail and love of entertaining bring the gardens to life in more ways than one. 🌿🍽️

Beechwood Gardens features a water garden with a water lily lake, waterfalls and five ponds, a formal rose garden with an adjacent colonnade, and a spectacular vegetable garden. 🌹🌱

The gardens are wheelchair friendly, with a smooth pathway connecting each of these features.
