Planning an event/special celebration? Your choice of venue is key to ensuring event success. Here's a few items to consider when choosing a venue.
Before you an even begin your search for the perfect venue you need to decide on the following:
1. Budget
2. Number of attendees
3. Type of event
Now that you've decided on budget, number of guests and the type of event you have in mind the search for the most suitable venue can begin and you need to consider the following:
1. Date of function/event:
Most venues will be booked months in advance, so the first question should be are you available on your desired date?
2. Cost:
If you can keep the cost of the venue down it allows more room for catering, beverages, decor and entertainment. Stay within budget.
3. Service and amenities:
Does your venue have a kitchen?
Does your venue allow outside vendors (Catering/Entertainment)?

It is important to keep in mind the type of guests you will be inviting-
Children- Is it a child friendly venue and do they have a safe play area?
Elderly- Limited stairs?

The ambiance of a venue is important to your theme or type of event. If the venues existing decor can be used or match your theme it an greatly save on decor costs.
9. Weather:
Should poor weather strike on your planned date is there a plan B available? (Covered area for event to continue if you had an outdoor event in mind)
10. Food:
Yes, food is essential decision to ensure success to your event. Budget plays a vital role in the type of food that can be served. Check that the vendor supply all equipment, cutlery, crockery you may need. Will the vendor supply service during the event?
