The official photos by Monica Dart Photography are being used in the marketing campaign for Nedbank's Proud about Paarl programme. The programme supports early childhood development centres in Paarl in the Western Cape, South Africa. Nedbank clients - at no extra cost to themselves - are helping to make a difference in young lives.

MEET ELIZABETH SEPTEMBER - CHANGING YOUNG LIVES

Elizabeth September is an employee at Nieuwe Sion farm in Paarl - and a loyal Nedbank client. Elizabeth is also one of the faces of Nedbank's Proud about Paarl programme that is investing in Early Childhood Development centres in the area.

Today we're sharing a behind-the-scenes peek of Elizabeth's photo session - and the stunning end-result!

Ranyaka, in collaboration with Valcare, is one of the implementing agents for the ECD programme in the Paarl area. Nedbank is one of the primary funders of the programme.

Through its Proud about Paarl community fund, Nedbank has enabled its Paarl clients to contribute to the upliftment of their area - at no extra cost to themselves - simply by banking with Nedbank.

Then came Bali

Then came Bali.

The first time I saw Hanri Human, I didn't know she was Hanri Human and I didn't know she was a fabulous photographer. I just knew that she made a pretty picture walking along the dirt road at the Irene Dairy Farm in Centurion, Pretoria, South Africa. So I took a photo. And a friend who was with me (Grace!) told me that I really shouldn't stalk people.

So I went chasing the petite blonde down the dirt road, told her that I had a photo of her walking down the road and did she mind and she said NO! (No, she didn't mind) and OH THAT'S SO COOL!!!!! and would I e-mail it to her... and that's how I met Hanri. (By the way, anyone who knows Hanri, knows that she lives and breathes FULL CAPS and exclamation marks. ENERGY!)

Four years or so later, on the 4th of October 2017 to be exact, I took this photo of Hanri at my niece, Erin's wedding in... BALI!!!

Here's to stalking people (in a good way). Or rather, talking to strangers. Because you never know who you'll meet and where life's paths will take you...

My favourite moments at family sessions are usually (almost always) the in-between ones. The unpredictable, unplanned, caught-off-guard, some-kid-on-her-own-mission, oh!-look-there! moments. The moments that reveal a glimpse of the family's personality. Their story. Their bond.

Since moving to Stellenbosch, I have had the privilege of meeting so many creative souls who work in so many different artistic fields. One of them, is Frances Bosch: graphic designer, illustrator, gentle spirit. Her work is beautiful and I'm excited to share her brand-new website. I'll admit - I've always had a thing for beautiful stationery. Since childhood. A clean sheet of paper and a sharpened pencil just holds so much promise of prettiness to be poured out onto it; of magical words to be written. I can't draw or design to save my life.
