🍷✨ A Little Sparkle, A Lot of Character: Ken Forrester at The Tank Room! ✨🍷
This weekend, The Tank Room hosts a tasting journey through the exceptional w**es of Ken Forrester W**es, from the first sparkle in the glass to the richness of a beautifully crafted red.
🌿 ABOUT KEN FORRESTER WINES
On the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, in the heart of Stellenbosch, Ken Forrester W**es is a farm built on a simple belief: that every community should look after its own. The vineyards are farmed sustainably with no herbicides or pesticides, and everything is done by hand, from tilling and pruning to thinning bunches and leaves, and finally harvesting. It is hugely labour intensive, but it creates jobs and improves the quality of life of the farm’s people. Each bottle is seen as a victory and a small change for the better in someone’s life.
INTEGRITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
Every bottle carries the South African W**e and Spirit Board seal, which certifies that the w**e was bottled in South Africa, that the vintage, variety and origin on the label are correct, that it was produced sustainably in an earth-friendly manner, and that it can be traced all the way from vine to bottle.
HANDCRAFTED, WITH CHARACTER
Ken Forrester’s w**emaking philosophy is to create handcrafted, individually made w**es that complement a wide variety of food styles and offer excellent value. Chenin Blanc is his great love, and in his words it is “totally at home barefoot or in high heels and a dinner suit.” Each vintage is different, and the flavours in the vineyard dictate the style of the w**e.
THE FMC VINEYARD
Planted in 1974 and celebrated worldwide, the FMC is a registered heritage site. Its gnarled 50-year-old Chenin Blanc bush vines now share the space with a sculpture garden, a walk among living vines and striking contemporary art curated by Janko de B**r of FOMO Fine Art Gallery. Ken Forrester describes the vineyard as “a canvas of time, resilience, and flavour."
