This is Luzanne and Connie…
THIS is radical kindness in action…

Let me tell you a story.

By early afternoon at the conference today, I knew- I was done.
Completely finished.
Utterly exhausted.

There was no way I was going to make it to the gala dinner this evening.

So, I quietly went in search of lunchtime leftovers – something to take back to my B&B, so I could rest, refuel, and be ready for my early morning flight.

As I approached the lunch area, these two women - Luzanne and Connie- called out to me, asking if they could help.

I explained that I was feeling too wiped out to make the planned evening occasion and was hoping that there might be some food left over.

Without a moments hesitation, Luzanne, the manageress of Capitol Caterers here in Makhanda/ Grahamstown, told me they’d made my special gluten-free meal- and she would deliver it to my guest house herself.

I offered to fetch it. She insisted.

She took my details, messaged me her number in case I needed anything else…

And that’s exactly what she did.
This evening she hand delivered the most beautifully packed meal – complete with cutlery, dessert and somehow my two favourite drinks (how she knew, I’ll never know)- water and an Appletizer.

Here is what moved me most-

These two beautiful souls didn’t know who I was.
They didn’t know my backstory.
They didn’t know how tired I’ve been or what I’ve been navigating.

They were just kind.
Kind human beings, being kind.

And it got me thinking…

You shouldn’t have to know someone’s story to be radically kind.

You don’t need all the details to show up with humanity.

Just be really kind anyway.

The world needs more of that.
The world needs more of them.

With love and so much gratitude for kind-just-because humans,
Naomi ❤️

Celebrating the goodness of milk, students at Greenfields Place of Safety learned about the nutritional benefits of including dairy in their diet. The informative session highlighted the importance of milk for healthy growth and development. To conclude the presentation, each child enjoyed a refreshing glass of milk and a piece of fruit — a wholesome treat reinforcing the message of a balanced diet.

This celebration formed part of World Milk Day, observed globally on 1st June, honouring the role of milk in healthy diets and sustainable food systems.

Packed with calcium, protein, and essential vitamins, dairy helps build strong bones, support muscle growth, and boost immunity.
Healthy, delicious, and naturally nutritious — raise a glass to dairy!
