Its wedding season and we've got some tips to get you going:

Step 1: Plan Your Wedding Budget

Whether you have a large budget or small, a clear plan of what you plan to spend and on what will help you make the most of your money. Our budget planning tool will help you keep track of your estimated spend on each aspect of your day; along with your actual spend.

Step 2: Choose Your Wedding Venue

Choosing your wedding venue comes hand in hand with selecting your wedding date. Take a look at our wedding venues section where you can search venues by province, town or type. When you have found a selection of wedding venues that you like, book an appointment to go for a viewing so you can see it first hand and also ask any questions you might have. When you think you have found ‘the one’, speak with the venue’s wedding team to find what available wedding dates they have. Once your venue is chosen and your date is confirmed you can start the fun part of planning such as food, fashion and décor.

Step 3: Pick Your Rings

When your venue is booked, the date is set and you’re insured, start to think about your wedding rings. You will be wearing your wedding rings for the rest of your life and they symbolise your eternal and everlasting love, so take your time to choose something that will both match your engagement ring and your own personal taste.

Step 4: The Guest List

When you have your venue chosen and your budget set, you will have idea of the number of people you can invite to your wedding day. Start by making a list of all the potential wedding guests, you may find you need to cut this down when you are finished so put your closest friends and family at the top to make it easier. Once your invitations are sent you can keep track of your guests’ details and RSVP’s using our guest manager tool.

Step 5: Finding the Wedding Dress

One of the most fun parts of planning your wedding will be choosing your wedding dress. Our wedding dress section is filled with dress styles from designers across the globe, along with an extensive list of South African bridal stockists.

Step 6: Order Your Stationery

Choosing and ordering your wedding stationery is something fun that you can do together as a couple. If you have a colour scheme chosen for your day then think about having designs to compliment this. Or create something unique that suits you both as a couple, like a fun photo invite.

Step 7: Your Honeymoon

An exciting thing to start planning next is your honeymoon — think of it as a reward for all your hard work after planning the wedding! Start planning your honeymoon early in case you need to update passports and apply for visas. If you are looking for ideas then our honeymoon section is packed full of destinations from around the world.

Step 8: Book Your Suppliers

One of the main suppliers you will need to book is your wedding photographer. Make some time to research a few different photographers and their styles to see if they are right for you. Then start to think about your florist, DJ, wedding cars and any other wedding suppliers you might need. Take a look at our suppliers directory to help you find the service providers you need.

Step 9: Send Your Invitations

When you are ready to send out your wedding invitations, make sure you have all your guests’ details imported into our guest manager tool so you can keep track of who has RSVP’d. When the guest list is confirmed you can use our table planner to help you seat all your guests, making it easy and simple.

Step 10: The Finishing Touches

When you have finished all your planning, make any final checks you need to. Ensure the wedding party each know what their jobs are and confirm with all your wedding suppliers. If you have any questions about your wedding planning or want to share some of your new found wedding wisdom then why not start talking in our wedding forums. Then take some time to relax as you have done all the hard work!

Good luck!
