As family, friends and neighbours, it’s our natural inclination to look out for each other, and the world of business can be no different. Collaboration is one way in which small-business owners can join forces and learn from each other, exchange ideas, increase purchasing power and grow revenues.

We all have weaknesses, areas that are not our strong suit. Collaboration allows for each of us to share our strengths and fill the gaps in our weaknesses. It’s a fallacy that the only strong win, because no one person is strong in all areas of business. We are stronger together.

One thing I’ve learned is that you cannot do entrepreneurship alone. For me it’s been the support of other entrepreneurs. Thank you for being a part of the first Seven Colours Sunday Lunch. Your beautiful flowers and Tablescapes made it a celebration and an occasion to remember. We made magic together and I know this is only the beginning.

I will always choose collaboration over competition, many times I’ve collaborated with businesses that do what I do because I truly believe that seeking complementary partnerships makes us stronger, not weaker. Besides, you can’t be at two places at one time and the pie is really big enough for everyone and when we share it, the pie actually get bigger!!

At this year's we've invite the to take a seat at our table to inspire them to become entrepreneurs.

I believe that entrepreneurship is the greatest weapon to counteract the issue of unemployment and empower the youth. We need to encourage the youth to consider entrepreneurship as a career choice, instead of looking to be absorbed into the already constricted job market after graduating from varsity.

Youth by default are energized and are willing to explore new territories and take up new challenges and risks. Put aside the fact that entrepreneurship can curb unemployment and improve our economy, it also has a key role to play in building character.

Most people start businesses as a back up plan because they didn’t get a job after graduating or were retrenched. We need to promote entrepreneurship as a career path, rather than as a last resort.

As a , the thing I would like my daughters learn from me is the value of sisterhood, not only between them as sisters but also with other girls. We have the power to instill beliefs and ideas that will make them strong, independent women's women.

We need to teach our girls to have one another's backs and not to see every other girl as competition or a threat. They need to know that sisterhood, having a tribe, is about having a net to catch you when you fall and a hand to help you up when you stumble. Your tribe holds you together when you feel your most broken, your tribe will lift you up when the world lets you down.
