Today one year ago was a vital moment and today marks a very special milestone for me and Hold That Smile Photography. As a wife, a mom, a friend, a professional photographer, and an entrepreneur, this day is a vital one!
20 August isn’t a day I look at with sadness, negativity, or what drains me. It’s a day of liberation (yes, I’ll be dramatic about it 😂) — a reminder of how far I’ve come and how much more is still ahead!
To every entrepreneur and photographer out there: never slow down your race for anyone. Your dream will NEVER resonate with them. Don’t let anyone make you doubt yourself. And when you feel that big, bold flame of success and drive inside you starting to dim — step away from whatever’s stealing your light, immediately. 🔥
I’ve achieved so much these past 12 months – professionally, financially and spiritually (obviously because the joy of the Lord is my strength 😉). Through the highs and the lows, I’ve grown, stretched, and stepped into new levels I once only dreamed about.
🫶 I celebrated that I get to spend more time with my 2 girls. Every challenge shaped me, every win fueled me, and every moment reminded me of God’s goodness.
This journey has only just begun — and I’m more excited than ever for what’s ahead.
To my family, every friend I have made along this journey and the ones who have walked this road with me these past years, I celebrate you more than the “meaning” of today - people who hurt you fade away, their influence die down. Don’t let them define you. As I’ve said previously, let them fuel you, you are bigger than their misguided-minimal-opinion of you.
🤩 And to my Husband, 🤩 I can’t wait to dress up with you for the Award ceremony. You are my BIGGEST fan.
This 🥹👉 Leon (my husband 😉): “I know how great you are, it’s time the world realises it too!” ❤️
You’ve silenced every doubt, every hurt, every voice, and every label that was ever placed on me. You are the favourite part of my day. Ek lief jou 😘
Here’s to dreaming bigger, working harder, and shining brighter!” ✨
