Run by arguably the two most avid live music lovers; Terry and Di Acres: The Mill Sessions is a small music events company situated along the Midlands Meander, KZN. This events company is passionate about supporting local, full-time musicians and hosting a variety of genres and sounds within an intermate setting. There are two primary aspects of our business that sets us apart from other local liv

e music events. First and foremost is our excellent sound system team run by Terry Acres who has over 45 years of experience and knowledge in sound engineering. Secondly is our venue’s: Caversham Mill and Midlands Forest Lodge. Caversham Mill has been hosting intermate, live music events over the past five years hosting approximately 80 people. The restaurant run by Di Acres who has for 13 years met exceptional standards in terms of fine dining and developed a strong team of staff that upholds these same values. Midlands Forest Lodge, home of the Balgowan brewery is an outdoor venue that hosts approximately 400 people. The stage overlooks forests, mountains and walking trails amongst the numerous wooden cabins available for accommodation. This venue is designed to ensure a comfortable environment for the audience, making available 29 benches, a large flat lawn to lay down picnic blankets, built-in ablutions, an indoor kids play area, plenty of parking space, car guards, a food tent, a drink tent, the Balgowan brewery and a tuck shop. We have two VERY special Musicians playing on the 14th of March.

Leandros Stavrou

After moving to KZN form Johannesburg, where he taught and performed, he continued his teaching from the Highway area (Kearsney and Highbury all the way through to Amanzimtoti). He was also a guitar lecturer at KZN and Durban Westville Universities as well as the Durban Technicon.
In 2001 He moved up to the Midlands where he continues to give of his immense knowledge, inspiring young and upcoming guitarists in all styles of guitar from Rock, Jazz through to Classical. His inspiration has been felt by many who have continued to grow as professionals, one being Guy Buttery.

William Silk

William Silk completed his Masters in vocal performance an orchestral and choral conducting in 2009 just before moving to the KZN Midlands to join the Michaelhouse music department. William has been seen on a number of different stages performing in a number of genres from Classical and musical theatre through to Jazz and Rock. William is the Musical Director of the KZN Midlands Youth Choir who perform and compete world wide.

Hello Midlands people. I am looking for people interested in doing pop up food and coffee stalls at our next Mill Sessions on Saturday 8 Feb. Set up at 10 am until breakdown at 7pm.
