Cindy has a passion for people dressed in bridal attire and enjoys every element event planning entails.

How long have you been in the wedding industry?
12 Years

What inspired you to start?
I have always dreamed of being in eventing and weddings and back in 2014 took the leap of faith and left the corporate world to start up a wedding venue…Tying Knots was born a few years later servicing bridal couples specifically in the West Coast area.

Your proudest achievement?
Next to becoming a mom to my amazing little boy, having one of my weddings featured on Top Billing and another one winning the Wedding Crashers Viewers Choice Award!

The biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Every bump in the road is there to shake things up because we need to be shaken up every now and then! Don’t ever lose faith and always keep moving even when it all seems hopeless. Doors open for those who push them.

One piece of advice for women in business.
Don’t give up. Keep going. And when you feel you can’t do it anymore, step back and look at the situation differently…you will find your truth.

A fun fact about you that people don’t know.
I am originally from Durban but now consider myself a fully-fledged West Coaster!

What does Women’s Month mean to you?
Women wear so many hats on a daily basis. We all struggle. We all have our own “things”. The month of August is a month we celebrate those women showing up every day, rocking those hats!

How long have you been in the wedding industry?

What inspired you to start?
There is truly nothing quite like the feeling of watching months of planning come together perfectly, knowing you played a direct part in making someone’s dream day or event a reality

Your proudest achievement?
Becoming a mother to my two beautiful children. It changes your life completely, brings incredible joy, and is something deeply respected all over the world.

The biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect. Accepting that perfection is impossible allowed me to focus on problem-solving, adaptability, and resilience instead of getting stuck on the mistake.

One piece of advice for women in business.
Always believe in yourself, be confident in yourself, ideas and abilities. Believe in your value, build a strong network, and never be afraid to set firm boundaries.

A fun fact about you that people don’t know.
I enjoy making my children "cringe" :)

It celebrates women and pushes for equal fairness.

I have been part of the wedding industry for several years and have had the privilege of being involved in many special moments in people's lives.

What inspired you to start?
I have always had a passion for food, people, and creating beautiful experiences. I started my business with the dream of creating unforgettable moments while also providing employment opportunities for people in our small community.

Your proudest achievement?
I am most proud of the fact that I built my business through hard work, perseverance, and faith. I am also grateful that I have the opportunity to help others earn an income.

The biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Success does not happen overnight. Every challenge brings new opportunities, and every difficult season teaches us something valuable.

One piece of advice for women in business.
Believe in yourself, stay true to your values, and never be afraid to work hard for your dreams.

A fun fact about you that people don’t know.
Many people only see the finished product, but they don't realise how many hours of planning, preparation, and dedication go into every event. I love turning creative ideas into something truly special.

Women's Month is a time to celebrate the strength, courage, and perseverance of women. It reminds me of the importance of supporting, encouraging, and inspiring one another.

✨ A Wedding as Beautiful as the People at the Heart of It ✨

On Saturday, 22 August, we had the absolute pleasure of planning, coordinating and creating the florals for the beautiful wedding of Quintin & Nadia at Windtown Hotel in Langebaan. 🤍

These two are, quite simply, some of the sweetest people to ever walk the shores of Langebaan. Down-to-earth, kind, respectful, genuine and an absolute joy to work with. ❤️

Their wedding day was a beautiful reflection of who they are — intimate, warm, genuine and filled with love.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, with the beautiful Langebaan Bay as their backdrop, it was a day filled with laughter, happy tears and so much love.

From the planning and coordination behind the scenes to creating the flowers that brought their day to life, it was such a privilege to be part of every little detail. 🌸🌿

No-one in the West Coast Wedding industry can possibly not know the dynamic duo partnership that is Be-Dazzled! Hiring, styling and floristry on the West Coast!

How long have you been in the wedding industry?
19 yrs in business

What inspired you to start?
We couldn’t find a supplier that could supply decor for my birthday

Your proudest achievement?
So many but the 1 standing out is the Luck Star 100th Celebration setting up for 1200 pax

The biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Work hard, trust yourself in all that you do but also make time for yourself. You are important!

One piece of advice for women in business.
Stay positive when it’s difficult. You will get through it a stronger person

A Day Filled With Love 🤍

On the 8th of August, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating Dino & Vicky at the beautiful Gelukkie in Paternoster.

Having already celebrated their Greek traditional wedding, this time they wanted something wonderfully simple and meaningful — a beautiful white wedding surrounded by their nearest and dearest. And that is exactly what it was. 🤍

A small, intimate daytime celebration, filled with so much love, laughter and happiness. From the gorgeous weather to the relaxed lunchtime experience, every little detail came together to create a day that felt incredibly special.

Dino and Vicky are the kind of couple who make you feel privileged to be part of their story. Warm, genuine, kind and completely in love — they were surrounded by a beautiful, close-knit group of family and friends who made the day even more memorable.

It was an absolute joy for us to host them and to be part of creating a day that was as beautiful, heartfelt and unforgettable as they are.

What inspired you to start?
Charlene has always loved the creativity and transformation of makeup and hair, but what inspired her most was seeing how it could change the way a woman feels about herself. Her goal is to create an experience where every woman feels comfortable, celebrated and confident—not simply beautiful.

Your proudest achievement?
Building a career doing what she loves while making a difference in how women see themselves. Every bride who leaves her chair feeling confident, excited and beautiful is an achievement she treasures.

The biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Never compare your journey to someone else’s. Your story, experience and unique talents are what make your business special. Consistency, kindness and believing in yourself will take you further than trying to be perfect.

Believe in yourself, even when you’re still figuring things out. Don’t be afraid to take up space, charge what you’re worth and celebrate your achievements. And always support other women—there is room for all of us to succeed. 🤍
