Cape School of Floristry I’m Gerda, award-winning Florist Coach & founder of Cape School of Floristry. Start your flower journey today—learn, create & grow your skills! Agric.

I help aspiring florists, hobbyists & career-changers master floral design through online & in-person courses. Flower arranging classes with award-winning florist coach Gerda Tuffin, founder of The Cape School of Floristry (est. 2001). Growing up on a family flower farm sparked Gerda’s lifelong passion for blooms. She trained at the Constantia School of Floristry (1983) and earned a B.Sc. in Horticulture from Stellenbosch University (1988). In 2000, she furthered her expertise in Europe, completing the International Course in Dutch & European Floral Design at the prestigious Boerma Institute, Aalsmeer, Holland. For over 20 years, Gerda and her husband Bernard owned and grew Flowercraft Florists in Cape Town into a thriving multi-branch business before selling in 2014 to follow their dream of country living in Ladismith, Western Cape. Gerda has won multiple flower arranging competitions and is celebrated for her relaxed, nurturing teaching style that empowers students to explore their creativity with confidence. Today, she offers online and in-person floristry courses for absolute beginners, hobbyists, career-changers, and experienced arrangers wanting to refresh their skills. Classes are held at The Country Garden Guest Farm in Ladismith and in Cape Town. Whether you dream of starting a floral business, creating stunning arrangements, or simply enjoying a rewarding new hobby, The Cape School of Floristry is where your flower journey begins. 🌸
