LONG POST BELOW BUT IT'S WORTH THE READ.
Some of you might have seen, some of you not, but 3 weeks ago, all my camera gear got stolen after a shoot, around 400k worth. It was the worst day of my life but this post is not about that.
This is a POSITIVE post.
This post is about the best people that I've met in my whole time in this industry, dating back to 2008 when I started my career. That is none other than some really amazing people from .
When I told them about my gear being stolen and that I was now in quite the predicament of not being able to honour jobs or book new jobs, they replied to me on a Sunday night and by the next day, had organised to get me a whole bunch of gear to use so that I could carry on working. As of today I'm still waiting for my insurance, but at the moment, I have all of this kit you see here, Sony's kit which I have until the new year. I can carry on with my work, still make a living and it takes a mountain of stress out of a really sh*tty situation
I made the switch to Sony earlier this year, which I should've a long time ago already. I've worked on three different camera brands over the years, and never had u had such support or worked with such genuine, just damn good human beings
I initially switched because it's just the best camera system for me. It's made my work easier, quality better but now I'll never leave, partly because of the system but mostly because these are the kind of people you want to work with in this industry. People who have your back with no expectations. My Sony gear cost me a lot of physical money, but the support system has been worth 10 times that.
Thank you Burger, Eslie, Herman and everyone else involved. You don't know how much this all means to me.
