The Cameroon Festival Tournament is a Cameroon’s hallmark event in South Africa that draws together Cameroon Nationals living in South Africa, local people, business, youth, community organisations, government, media and visitors from all over Gauteng and beyond on an annual basis to celebrate Cameroon’s richness, diversity, enterprise, arts, culture and heritage. The Cameroon Festival Tournament
combines an entertainment programme including football tournament, music, dance and other products, an outdoor area for food and drink vendors selling traditional as well as branded fare and activity pavilion and a business expo for the corporate. North West Festival Tournament ran successfully for 3 consecutive years and by virtue of its success and the crowd it has pulled over the years, we then saw the need to transform it to Cameroon Festival Tournament in other to accommodate all Cameroonians living in South Africa. A tournament that started with 4 Teams made up of 88 players has now grown to 8 Teams made up of 176 players with 40 non Cameroonians players involved as a symbol of unity, solidarity and social cohesion. This year’s Cameroon festival tournament is taking place at Kensington, Johannesburg with the theme “Cameroon Festival Tournament Say NO to Xenophobia”
