AUKL - African Union of Kettlebell Lifters To establish, practice, promote and encourage the sport of Kettlebell Lifting throughout Africa..... The main object of the society is
1.

To be the recognized authority for Kettlebell Lifting in Africa;
2. To increase the number of Kettlebell Lifters in Africa;
3. To establish, practice, promote and encourage the sport of Kettlebell Lifting throughout Africa in accordance with such rules nationally or internationally, which may, from time to time, apply and which, by ordinary resolution, the members of AUKL, or the Executive Committ

ee, may decide to apply;
4. To supervise and hold under its auspices competitions and championships on provincial, interprovincial, national, continental and international level for Kettlebell Lifting;
5. To consider, resolve upon, and issue rules and regulations in terms of this Constitution in regard to the practice of Kettlebell Lifting and matters associated therewith;
6. To represent the interests of Kettlebell Lifting at national, continental and international forums at the discretion of the Executive Committee of AUKL;
7. To disseminate information relating to Kettlebell Lifting;
8. To affiliate to or otherwise associate with any body with objects similar to those of AUKL;
9. To create such offices, rules and regulations as may be necessary for the conduct of its affairs from time to time;

This Saturday, January 17, Steve’s birthday, communities around the world will be moving together in honor of Steve Cotter.
In kettlebell gyms and garages.
In BJJ academies and training rooms and home gyms.
Across time zones, disciplines, and generations.
For 17 minutes, people who were taught by Steve and shaped by his work and Love will lift, roll, breathe, and move with intention.
Steve believed strength was something you practiced daily, quietly, and with integrity.
He believed in lineage.
In family.
In community.
In showing up.
This is not a workout to “win.”
There are no scores or expectations.
Just 17 minutes of movement:
Kettlebells or Qigong
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or Stretching
Move how you’re able.
Train where you are.
Know that others around the world are doing the same with intention.
After your 17 minute set, please share a photo or short clip and tag so we can witness this moment together as one global community.

IKMF World Championships 2025 (part 2) took place this past weekend in Hungary.

This weekend I competed in both the Pentathlon and the 1-hour OALC Marathon. I finished third in the Pentathlon and became the world champion in the Marathon, also earning the Master of Sport World Class rank. Although I represented the Netherlands, I believe I am the first South African to win a medal at an international kettlebell competition.

I know there are so many strong South African kettlebell athletes, and I hope to see a South African team at the next IKMF World Championships in Scotland 13-15 November 2026—so we can officially bring some medals home.
