The Flower Shed

The Flower Shed Wedding flowers and decor Flowers have been a family business for us for over 40 years. We aim to support local growers as much as possible.

We are an experienced Midlands-based mother and daughter team, providing a bespoke floral service that only takes on a limited number of weddings per year. We are passionate about blooms and love to include flowers from our garden or foraged flowers in our designs. "Your inspiration....our passion!"

Welcome! At The Flower Shed we believe in people, in family and connection. We love pushing the boundaries of floral scapes, we adore your weirdest and wildest dreams and bringing them to life. We only use fresh flowers, most of them picked from our own expansive garden. We try to reduce our ecological impact by using unique vintage pieces, less floral foam, locally sourced products as well as repurposed materials to create your decor look. But mostly, by the end of our walk with you we aspire to be an experience that you have enjoyed not just for the beauty created for you but also the heart of the journey.

So this is a lot of what we have been doing in the past few months while the wedding industry has gone through this strange enforced dormant period. On top of our day jobs we've built a huge wonderland for the boys in the garden! 🌿We have also planted out more flowers, we've chatted to sad brides about derailment of plans and encouraged them to think to the future. 🦋Love is what we have now, let's enjoy that moment, the formalities can come soon. 🥂On that note we are fast booking up for 2021 so please do pop me a message....for now I hope you enjoy darling Theodore swinging for all his little 2 year old body is worth 🥰

It's been a while since there's been any activity on this page, so we thought we'd like to share a story about ourselves to our new followers. This is how long the obsession with flowers has been in the family for.... Here are some postcards sent in 1919 with scant address from family in Germany to my great great grandmother newly planted in South Africa. Of course the subject is always about "how is her garden?". When you trust us with your special day, we are bringing with us a love and heritage passed down from one woman to the next, generation after generation. Endless flower love.

Some beautiful evocative shots of our latest wedding out at Abingdon Wine Estate, the decor brief being a romantic mix of deep pinks, blushes and deep wine red.... It complemented the pale pink linens and rose gold accents perfectly. Thank you Kim for making the work of our hands come to life in your images.

People!!! I am gonna try in words to describe my experience with these two, but I got a feeling it won't fully reveal the whole story. When we first decided

The coldest weather swept across the KZN Midlands while we busily prepped for Dean and Chantelle's intimate gathering at Hartford House earlier this year. Not even snow could put a damper on the mood! To say we adored doing your flowers was an understatement, I had been dreaming of executing your vision and palette for weeks! Thank you Page and Holmes for making what is a truely difficult craft look effortless in your photos, they are phenomenal. Please can we just do it all over again?
