Celebrating the Women Who Make It Happen.

At Paragon Africa, we are incredibly proud of the women within our own team who bring passion, expertise and determination to everything they do.
But today, our appreciation extends beyond our team.

To the women among our clients, partners, suppliers, venues, destinations and industry colleagues — thank you for trusting us, collaborating with us, challenging us, supporting us and working alongside us to deliver exceptional experiences across Africa and beyond.

Your work may happen on the stage, behind the scenes, in an office, on a show floor or somewhere in between — but your impact is felt throughout our industry.

Here’s to the women who lead, create, connect, deliver and inspire.

Happy Women’s Day from all of us at Paragon Africa.

Recognition is never about one individual—it is a reflection of the people, partnerships and industry that inspire us to keep raising the bar.

We are incredibly proud that our Managing Director, Lara Le Roux, was nominated for Event Operations Professional of the Year at the Women in MICE Awards.

A heartfelt thank you to the individual who nominated Lara. Your confidence and recognition are deeply appreciated and serve as a reminder of the impact that dedication, collaboration and excellence can have within our industry.

The evening brought together an extraordinary group of women who continue to shape, innovate and lead the business events sector across Africa. To stand alongside such remarkable professionals was an honour in itself and a celebration of the talent, resilience and leadership that drives our industry forward every day.

Congratulations to all of the deserving winners and finalists. Thank you for your passion, your leadership and your commitment to advancing the business events industry. Seven Months Into 2026: Reflections on the year thus far….

As we reach just more than seven months of 2026, it's clear this has been a year of both challenges and opportunities for the business events industry.

The year started slower than expected, with many conferences only gaining momentum from March and April. We've also seen South African associations confirming Professional Conference Organisers much later in the planning process. While many begin organising internally, delayed appointments inevitably place pressure on sponsorship, exhibition sales, marketing and delegate recruitment, ultimately impacting a conference's financial success.
Fortunately, experience makes the difference. At Paragon Africa, we've worked alongside our clients to navigate these compressed timelines, finding practical solutions that continue to deliver successful events.

Budget constraints remain another reality. Universities and academic institutions have fewer funds available to support delegates, resulting in more professionals self-funding their attendance. At the same time, delegates are registering later than ever before, and abstract submissions continue to arrive well beyond deadlines—a trend that has persisted since COVID-19. Conferences offering CPD and CME accreditation are also seeing increased demand as delegates seek greater value from their investment.

We're encouraged to see organisers embracing smaller towns and unconventional destinations, giving delegates new experiences while showcasing regions that may not traditionally host conferences. Legacy also remains a key priority, with associations looking beyond the event itself to create lasting impact through knowledge sharing, community initiatives or financial sustainability for future conferences.

Perhaps most exciting is the emergence of new associations launching inaugural conferences, demonstrating that industries continue to evolve and recognise the importance of bringing people together.

The first seven months of 2026 have reinforced one thing: successful conferences require more than operational excellence. They require strategic thinking, adaptability and trusted partnerships.

We're incredibly proud of our team and grateful to every client who has entrusted us with their events. As we look ahead to the second half of the year, we remain committed to delivering conferences that connect people, strengthen industries and leave a lasting legacy.

Here's to the rest of the year.

We’ve just returned from an incredible week in Kenya, where Paragon Africa had the privilege of planning and delivering the Joint World Conference on Social Work, Education and Social Development.

Bringing together more than 1,000 delegates from over 100 countries, this milestone event marked the first time the conference was hosted in Africa – and we were honoured to make it happen.

Watch the video to discover why we specialise in association conferences and congresses. For us, it’s about so much more than venues, AV and catering. It’s about understanding the purpose of your association, supporting your vision, and creating experiences that leave a lasting legacy.

If you're looking for a Professional Conference Organiser that puts your association's goals at the heart of everything we do, get in touch today at [email protected] or visit Paragon Africa to learn more.
