Rescue Report:
Last night, our team responded to a call in Newlands East where a snake had entered a house's main entrance. We located the snake deep within the door frame and safely removed it - a Mildly Venomous Red Lipped Herald. Kudos to the homeowner for keeping the snake safe until we arrived!

Just another day on the job for the Heads & Tails Exotics Team🇿🇦! We got called by a Fidelity ADT Special Response Unit Member to help with a snake in a bedroom in Phoenix. Turns out it was a Spotted Bush Snake🐍, one of the most common snakes in SA's urban areas. These little guys might get feisty, but they're harmless and actually really helpful, eating all the House Geckos🦎 they can find. Let's appreciate them, not harm them!

On the 13th of January 2026, our team successfully rescued and relocated another Nile Water Monitor, a species listed on TOPS, in Newlands East's Tiburan area. The homeowner had reported sighting the monitor entering their Wendy House. We conducted a meticulous search of the premises and, after a two-hour search, found the reptile hiding under roof tiles at the rear of the house. We appreciate the homeowner's cooperation and vigilance in this matter. The monitor was handed over to Nick Evans to contribute to ongoing research.
