The menu on the day was leg of lamb, butter roasted potatoes, cinnamon butternut squash, green beans, Moroccan style couscous &  a salad.

Woke up with a craving so strong for chow mein. Thank goodness I found a spot that's close enough for me to buy it & not disturb my star wars movie marathon!

So this year I decided I will take on the art part alchemy of baking. It's been the one part of my cooking journey that I know I suck at. Baking is precise,  a lot of work its borderline a workout, and yes I suck at it.

In some households dessert in a daily part of their evening meals. But for some such as my township middle class upbringing, dessert is treat. Treat being a once in a while occasion where it's made for celebration purposes.

My daughter love making meals together. So far it's been baking cupcakes, assembling sandwiches & cutting up fruit for fruit smoothie ice lollies.
