To think that just a week ago, the sun was shining brightly when I handed over this beautiful bridal bouquet to the bride.
And now, as I look around me, as far as the eye can see, I am greeted by such extreme devastation after the mighty rivers passed through our towns, situated in the wider Breede Valley.
The extent of the damages caused by the thunderous power of water, leaves one so broken, there are just no words….
Spare a thought to all the emergency workers out there, to all the hundreds and thousands of people that once again, lost everything, to the once beautiful green lush land that is now covered in mud and sand and debris everywhere…
This morning the sun is shining, the river is still flowing strong and now we all gather together to start the enormous task of collecting the millions of broken pieces to start all over again….
