I was born in a free country. I grew up with freedoms, rights and peace. War is something that I read in books and watched in movies. That is a privilege that sadly not everyone has. But that privilege came at a huge cost to many. So today I remember them. Today I thank them and promise, I will always remember.

And just in time for Remembrance Day, our indigenous orange poppies are in bloom!

Lovely, wish we still GOT post!

This historical photo is of the Boston Dargle Road taken some time in the 1930s.

Notice the lack of invasive trees on the slopes of the iNhlosane. What is interesting about this photo is that the junction of the Boston Dargle/Impendle road was referred to locally as “the Postbox”. Apparently, there was a wooden box or cage nailed onto a wattle tree (the wattle tree was located behind where the photographer stood).

Post for all the farms along the Boston Dargle road was delivered a few times a week to this postbox. There were of course not as many farm addresses in those days as there are now 😁📮
