There are moments that remind me empowerment doesn't always begin in a boardroom or a classroom.
Sometimes, it begins around a kitchen table.
Over the years, I've discovered that some of the most meaningful conversations I've had with the women I mentor have happened while we're making soup, baking bread, or preparing a meal together. In those simple moments, we're doing so much more than cooking.
We're building confidence.
We're sharing life.
We're learning practical skills.
We're reminding one another that we are capable of creating something beautiful with what we have.
For me, mentoring has never been about having all the answers. It's about walking alongside women, creating safe spaces where they feel seen, encouraged, and equipped to believe in themselves again.
I love watching someone realise that a simple skill can become a source of income, a way to provide for their family, or the beginning of a dream they never thought was possible.
That's why I do what I do.
Because empowerment isn't always found in the extraordinary.
Sometimes it's found in a pot of soup, a freshly baked loaf, and the conversations that quietly change a life.
