**Chasing the light on the Alphen Walk

Some afternoons just hand you the shot. Qadeer and Azraa strolling the old oak-lined trail as the sun dipped low, the whole valley wrapped in that soft gold Constantia does so well.

Anees & Saarah
Venue - Dawn Mountains Estate ,Franschhoek

Ceremony, reception, and portraits all captured at the breathtaking Dawn Mountains estate — a venue that gives you two completely different worlds in one shoot.

We started the day under heavy, overcast skies with rain threatening the whole afternoon. But just as we headed out for the couple’s portrait session, the clouds parted and gifted us that soft, golden late-afternoon light — the kind you can’t plan for, only hope for.

On one side, sweeping views towards greater Cape Town as the sun dropped low. On the other, the dramatic mountains of Franschhoek framing every frame. Two backdrops, endless looks, one unforgettable couple who soaked up every minute of it.

Anees & Saarah— thank you for trusting us with your day. Moments like these are exactly why we love what we do. 💛

Meet Qadeer & Azraa

Every Myphotocorner wedding booking comes with something couples don’t always expect — a pre-wedding coaching shoot, and this session with Qadeer and Azraa is a perfect example of why it matters.

It’s not just about beautiful portraits (though we definitely got those 😍). This shoot is where couples get a real feel for how we work on the big day itself — our style, our pace, and the way we move around you rather than the other way round.

Most importantly, it’s where we share the tips that make the biggest difference: how to let go, stop posing for the camera, and just *be* with each other. Because the couples who enjoy their wedding day the most are the ones who stopped performing for the lens and started living in the moment.

Qadeer and Azraa, thank you for trusting us with this experience — and we cannot wait to capture your special day next weekend! 🤍

Just married. 🤍

After the "I do's," Hughen and Kirshlyn stepped away for portraits at the stunning Lebac Estate in Paarl — and it was everything. Lush greens from the estate's natural setting, the Paarl mountains rising in the background, and that soft golden light wrapping around them as the day wound down.

You could feel it in every frame — two people fully present, fully in love, and completely soaking in the moment of celebrating the union they now share.

Some couples pose for the camera. Hughen and Kirshlyn just... celebrated, and we were lucky enough to capture it.

The bride's timeline doesn't care how beautiful the dress is. 🤍

Behind every calm, glowing bride walking down the aisle, there's usually a moment (or five) right before where things get real. For Kirshlyn, it was a stuck zipper that didn't want to budge, followed by a smudge of lipstick that landed exactly where it shouldn't have — on the dress, minutes before "go time."

Meanwhile, Hughen was already at the altar, waiting.

This is exactly why who you have in the room with you on your wedding morning matters so much. The right people don't panic. They problem-solve, they laugh with you instead of adding to the stress, and they get you dressed, calm, and ready to walk out that door on time — no matter what's gone sideways in the last ten minutes.

Zipper: fixed. Lipstick: gone. Bride: stunning. Groom: still waiting, but not for long.

Everything came together beautifully at the breathtaking Lebac Estate in Paarl. 💍

How We Got That Shot | Episode 2: Mubeena’s Engagement

For this one, we’re taking you into a hotel room — long before the celebrations even started.

Mubeena was getting ready for her engagement, dressed in the most stunning Indian gold and maroon lehenga, heavy with intricate embroidery from neckline to hem. Before the day swept her off into the festivities, we had a small window of calm — just her, the light, and that incredible dress.

The hotel room had a large window that was doing all the hard work for us — soft, directional light spilling in and wrapping around her. We added a touch of fill light on the left to lift the shadows and keep detail in the dress without losing that natural window-light softness. Then we found a couch with a textured, muted background that let the gold embroidery do the talking, and let her simply settle in and be present.

She looked toward the light, that quiet smile before the big moment — calm, composed, radiant.
