🎛️ MONTH 3 OF VOICES FOR CHANGE 🎶

The journey continues.

We are officially halfway through the Voices For Change Programme — a powerful collaboration between Amamfengu TV, Bridges Academy and Music in Africa — and the growth we’re witnessing from our participants has been inspiring.

Over the past 3 months, our artists and creatives have been immersed in:

✨ Music Production
✨ Music Business & Industry Systems
✨ Creative Collaboration
✨ Artist Development
✨ Studio Practice & Technical Skills

This programme was created to bridge the gap between talent and access — because understanding the music industry is just as important as mastering your craft.

As we move closer to the programme’s conclusion in August 2026, we remain committed to empowering the next generation of African music creatives with knowledge, opportunity and community.

Thank you to every mentor, facilitator, partner and participant shaping this journey with us. The future sounds powerful. 🌍🎵

Since March 26, 2026 we have been leading the social awareness programme hosted by: Amamfengu TV, an independent tech startup & music label based in Cape Town, Western Cape, dedicated to cultivating a new generation of socially conscious artists. Rooted in South African identity and global sound innovation. 🎶

Voices For Change is an incubation programme, offering mentorship and creative development initiatives, empowering local youth, township talent, and LGBTQ+ creatives through structured training, wellness support, and performance opportunities.

The program aims to produce sustainable creative livelihoods while using music as a tool for social transformation and healing.

Excited by the cohort we've plugged and are working with on this programme for the next 5 months!

A huge S/O to Bridges for Music for hosting us, as well as & for this opportunity. 🔥

The AmaMfengu, also known as Mfengu or Fengu, are a group of Xhosa clans whose ancestors were refugees who fled the Mfecane wars in the early 19th century and sought protection and land among the Xhosa people. They were assimilated into the Xhosa nation and are now considered part of the broader Xhosa identity. The term "Mfengu" comes from the Xhosa word "ukumfenguza," meaning "to wander about seeking service," however research says the word means something deeper.

The AmaMfengu played a role in the Frontier Wars, siding with the British and receiving land in the Transkei and Ciskei regions.

Cultural Identity:

While they have a distinct history as refugees, they are now largely integrated into Xhosa culture.
