Congratulations to 2 ladies, whom we have had the pleasure of hosting on our Langebaan Swim Camps, for achieving huge swims on opposite sides of the world yesterday.

1. Catherine Stefanutti, pulling a secret Catalina crossing in 13:13 becoming the first South African lady to complete the Triple Crown. Expect a call from Howard James with that finishing time LOL...

2. Joanna Mary Jo Stokoe, wow the earliest North Channel by a lady, the 1st solo North Channel of 2025. Just a dip from Ireland to Scotland in 12.5° water for 18 hours 53 minutes. Legendary swim.

Leaving Robben Island at the darkest hour and swimming to Big Bay arriving at first light is nothing short of a spectacular sight

Bioluminescence in the water, absolute silence and encountering the magnificent Atlantic Ocean in darkness

Our Covert Escape runs in December, January and February months only

Group RI Crossings

This is aimed at swim clubs, triathlon groups, friends and family who have completed their own training and are comfortably swimming 5-6kms and want to do their solo swims as a group

There needs to be a minimum of 8 swimmers with 2 swimmers per boat
You sort out the swim pairings

You provide us with a “window period” of when you would like to complete your swim

R500 non-refundable fee per swimmer secures your spot
R2550 per swimmer (R500 fee offset)
(Current 2025 price)

As soon as we see good weather conditions we get in touch and confirm your availability

Once a swim date is confirmed, you’ll be requested to complete your online registration and pay your SANParks fee and remaining fee

All swimmers will launch from Oceana Powerboat Club in Granger Bay

Beach support will ensure that you are fully recovered from your cold water swim with blankets, hot water bottles and warm hot chocolate in our sheltered recovery area

Crew will take videos and pictures of your EPIC swim which will be sent to the WhatsApp group and you will receive an electronic certificate of completion

Best times are between October and May

Supported Robben Island Crossing

This option is available for all swimmers who have completed their own training and are comfortably swimming 5-6kms

You provide us with a “window period” of when you would like to complete your swim

As soon as we see good weather conditions we get in touch and confirm your availability

Once a swim date is confirmed, we’ll create a WhatsApp group and you’ll be requested to complete your online registration and pay your SANParks fee and boat fee

You are welcome to share the boat fee if you have a swim partner that is the same pace as you

Big Bay Beach - surf launch R 4 150
