Today is a big day in India. It is the birthday of one of my favourite Gods- Ganesha popularly known in the West as the "Elephant God". As a child, I enjoyed the festivities that came along with this festival. The vivid memories of the fun, colour and excitement that the Lord brought along with him, the aromas of sweetmeats and savoury snacks prepared by my mum and the strong sense of unity and camaraderie that we felt, as the city geared up to prepare for his arrival! Ganesha is also known as the God for all beginnings. At the start of Spring, BombaytoCapeTown would love to begin the celebrations by hosting you at it's next Marigold weekend. 29 Sept- 1 Oct.
