Jannie: I am an IATA Inspector, qualified IATA BSP Trainer, Qualified Travel Industry Accountant, Travel Agents Board Accredited member, IATA/UFTAA qualified,
Qualified as Associate Member of the Institute of Travel management (AITM), Author of the BSP Advanced BSP Course and a known specialist of all the above

Article Clerks. When Millennium Travel was a dream of Linda in the late 1990βs, she contacted IATA on how to start a Travel Agency. They gave her
My number. What followed was a few meetings with Linda, John, Grace & Nicole. I then helped them set up Millennium Travel and was on retainer with Millennium Travel from day one; working specifically with Grace to set up the Finance Dept, attending to IATA & BSP matters and coding the ACCPAC accounting software to accommodate separate accounting for The Travel & Conferencing Depts. So yip, been there when Millennium Travel was conceived π
*Q: What do you love most about working in travel/events/incentives?*
Jannie: I have been in Travel since 06 April 1976 and done it all. And studied it all. Eventually owned my own Traven Agency 1989 β 1996. Then divorced and became the only roaming IATA roaming Inspector, Trainer and BSP Expert whilst also implementing BSP in 5 African Countries, including Mauritius. I love all that I do and prefer the Finance side of the Industry now in the latter years. I resigned as a qualified Maintenance Fitter from VW Uitenhage in 1976 (earning a R1000.00 plus) at the time, and joined SARTravel (SAA) in the same year; starting with R 143.00 per month. Need I say more ?
*Q: Whatβs been your favourite destination (work or personal) and why?*
Jannie: Always Mauritius & Namibia
*Q: Which place is at the top of your travel bucket list?*
Paradis Golf Resort & Spa; and other resorts on the west & north west coast of MRU
*Q: Whatβs your secret talent or party trick?*
Having trained more than 3750 Students in the Travel Industry, I have learned to be very alert and forward thinking to deal with them naughty students that are always out to corner the Lecturer. That and humour π
*Q: How do you stay calm under pressure?*
Immediate prioritising of steps to address a crisis; and pulling on the strengths of Team members if required. And a few deep breaths of course is the best fuel
