A bit of a newsletter, change of address and menu :

Hi Foodies.
Due to a few reasons, I will be moving to Richwood at the end of the month. If Richwood is too far out for collection, I will gladly deliver at a nominal fee. Or maybe I do deliveries once per week to Bothasig. I will figure that out as we go along!

I need your help!
For this move, as you can imagine, I need quite a bit of extra cash😕.

I am currently working at a company from 7:45-16:30, Mon-Friday, for the next few weeks. I get home in the evenings and cook, until I literally fall over 🙃 the worst of it is that I have been in a 7/10 pain for the last three weeks, and I'm doing my best...This is also why the orders have been slightly delayed. The pain is debilitating😡 ma ek kap an! 🥴

*Right now, I need ALL the help I can get!*

*Each and every order, no matter how small, helps me towards achieving this goal, and keeps food on our table!*

The following menu is available to order from. Orders close tomorrow at 4pm.

This next 14 days are kinda crazy, so I will do my best to complete all orders over the next 7 days.

As today's orders left, I reflected on my Taglia-Sagna recipe that I created when I was around 16 years old. That's a long time ago 🤣
I tried sheet lasagna a few times but every time, I just didn't fully enjoy it as the pasta to sauce ratio just wasn't palatable for me.
So I tried making it with more pasta, switching it up to Tagliatelle Noodle, purely because we had some available!
Well.. Since then, I think I maybe have fed the Western Cape, twice over, with my signature dish..
I hope you get to try some soon if you haven't already!

Delicious Recipe by FFBD to follow 🥳
These Cabbage Steaks are delicious as a main or side dish. At a recent event we served these to our vegetarian guests and they were a complete hit!

Feel free to play around with the toppings to cater to your individual taste.. anything goes, even shredded chicken. YUM!

Loaded Cabbage Steaks🤤
(Serves 4)

Ingredients :
Half of a head of Cabbage, core in tact, and cut into preferred thickness slices, approximately 1.5cm
2 eggs, scrambled
250ml Cake wheat / Self raising flour
75ml Nyama Chomma BBQ spice (or any spice of preference)
oil of choice, enough to pan fry steaks

Toppings :

3 Tomatoes, Sliced
1 Medium Finely Chopped Onion
2 Avocados
2 Grated Cups Cheese of Choice
Coriander
Salt and Pepper to Taste

Method :

Mix the flour and spices together in a bowl.
Dip slices into the beaten egg, and into the flour mixture.
Shallow fry in oil, on medium heat, until browned.
Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Place slices onto an oven baking tray and add toppings, or prepare method below to get them airfryer ready.

Top with finely chopped onion, tomato slices, salt and pepper, and top with cheese.

Grill in oven until cheese has melted, or place in airfryer on 200' for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Top with fresh Avo slices, Coriander and Serve!
