Head Chef – Kitchen Republik Catering (Salt River)
We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen with expertise, efficiency, and passion. This is a senior role that requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of kitchen operations, and the ability to manage high-volume catering, particularly for the film industry.
🔹 Minimum Requirements:
✅ 10+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen and/or catering business
✅ Proven ability to manage a team in a high-pressure environment
✅ Strong financial acumen – experience with menu costing, portion control, and food cost management
✅ Ability to build and implement kitchen systems that improve efficiency and consistency
✅ Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
✅ Experience with bulk production and event catering logistics
✅ Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
✅ Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends when required
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
👨🍳 Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring quality and efficiency
📊 Handle menu costing, supplier negotiations, and stock control to maintain profitability
⚙️ Develop and implement kitchen systems and processes for smoother workflow
🍽️ Maintain consistent food quality and presentation at all times
👥 Train, motivate, and manage the kitchen team to perform at their best
🚛 Coordinate with front-of-house, logistics, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations
