CHC Catering is owned by Wade Coetzer, who has been in the catering business for more than forty years. CHC Catering has become particularly successful in three key areas; business functions, special occasions (in particular weddings), and daily meals and function catering for business. We attribute our success-to-date to the absolute passion that we put into everything that we do. We have built a

reputation based on our ability to produce a quality product, with service supported by senior supervision at all functions. Clients know that the function will run smoothly and any snags experienced will be dealt with quickly and quietly. We have a philosophy of commitment and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done and it is a philosophy that has achieved the desired result. Our range of services is extensive, ranging from the delivery of snacks to the coordination and implementation of all the elements of large events (including the catering), ie:

- catering for business requirements; from the delivery of snack platters and boardroom meals to functions or events with full service
- catering for personal requirements; from small wedding receptions, 21st birthdays and anniversaries to large formal functions in a draped marquee with crystal and china. In all instances we are committed to:
- providing guests with generous portions of freshly prepared food
- the professional presentation of food
- a superior level of service
- smart professional staff who are efficient and easy to identify
- senior supervision at all functions
- providing advice on all aspects of the function, (ambience, theme)
- a flexible service with numerous options to meet the different needs and budgets

This combination allows our clients to relax and enjoy the function along with their guests knowing that everything is in hand and that nothing is too much trouble. We have developed numerous catering options to meet different needs, tastes, themes and budgets and will ensure that you enjoy generous portions of freshly prepared food, beautifully displayed and presented, and supported with a superior level of service. With the new trend in eating habits we have developed menus to accommodate vegetarian and halaal guests, so that everyone is individually catered for and made to feel special. CHC Catering is deemed to be a qualified small enterprise and a level 4 contributor.

Such memories that make you smile ! So Calvin was sitting in the airport lounge waiting to board a flight and sends me this pic . Without saying a word I knew exactly why he had sent it ! Years ago we were catering for a huge presidential function in the Drakensberg area and Calvin (who was in High School) was helping with waitering in the VIP tent ! He comes to me in the kitchen at some point looking very confused . I asked him if he was ok ? He replied very concerned that “The President has asked me to please bring him some Cinderella’s for his coffee ? I didn’t want to look stupid or disrespectful and told him sure I will bring to you now sir !” “Dad wtf are Cinderellas and in any case why would she have anything to do with a cuppa coffee ?” “To which I replied Calvin let’s take a chance I’m sure it is supposed to be Canderels which are at the tea station ! “ One very confused boy but one very happy President who got his Cinderellas ! 🤣🤣🤣

I’m celebrating my 60th Birthday and would like to pop in next week and chat with you .

I know Calderwood. My dream wedding venue when I used to own Bellz Decor and Hire in Matatiele. I sold during Covid and retired.

At my very 1st Decor Draping course years ago, Wade was catering at Amanda Bowens house in Dbn North. It was my 1st time eating Chocolate Eclairs... They were so so yummy. Still have never tasted one like it.

I have done decor at quite a few Kokstad homes where CHC did catering. I have always said one day is one day 🙏🏾

Sorry for such a long text. Sometimes we forget to let people know how they touch our lives and how they inspire us.

The Homestead is our dedicated events venue, launched in December 2025, created specifically for conferences, retreats, strategy sessions and private functions. It’s designed for up to 250 day delegates (seated), with a full events hall, bar and dance area, and wraparound verandas with valley views, so it feels expansive without feeling corporate. It also includes on-site accommodation for groups, plus professional catering kitchens that caterers can work from (or that can be used for self-catering setups). If your group needs one central base that can hold the work, the celebrations, and the downtime, this is it!
