❄️A Winter Wall Approaches❄️

Captured in today’s satellite image — the first powerful cold front is on its way, surging in from the Atlantic and making its presence known over the western half of South Africa. But this isn’t just any front — it’s being driven by a strong upper air trough, setting the stage for a dramatic shift in our weather.

Gentle giant wants to trade his king-size heart, for a king-size bed.

Hi. I’m Dupie.

You might’ve seen me before — I was the big softie cuddling a rescued puppy named Max. Yep, that was me. The oversized teddy bear with paws too big and a heart even bigger.

I’m a 4-year-old Great Dane x Lab cross. Basically: a majestic cuddle machine with a sliiiiiiight bed-stealing problem (we’ll talk about that later).

I used to have a home… a real one. With people who loved me. A king-size bed (don’t judge), and snuggles every night. But then… life hit my family hard. They lost their jobs. And I lost everything. My humans, my bed, my safe place.

I came to Huistoe. They were kind. But I was broken. Scared. I didn’t want to eat. I just wanted to disappear into my own shadow.

I met Marius.
This guy? Heart of gold. He stayed at Huistoe and saw me — not just the big, sad dog in the corner. He opened his heart… and ofcourse his bed. (My specialty.) Slowly, I came back to life. Tail wag. Big eyes. BIGGER cuddles. I remembered who I once was.

I was up for adoption, however I didn't push it, because Marius was my hero in the mean time. But Marius recently had to leave for a job opportunity. And I’m back to being without a person. Without a bed and cuddle buddy... again...
I try to stay hopeful. I’m trying real hard.

So here I am… asking:
Can I steal your heart? (And maybe your duvet?)

💛 I’m gentle. Like, really gentle.
💛 I love kids — I’ll babysit your toddlers and lick their yoghurt spoons clean.
💛 I’m good with other dogs – big and small.
💛 Cats? Perfectly fine by me. I respect their sass.

I don’t want much. Just someone to love. A home. A couch. (Okay… maybe a whole bed. But we can negotiate.)

Please give me a forever.
Because this big soft heart of mine? It’s all yours, if you’ll have it.
