Dinner for a special surprise birthday in Lalela Estate for a mum to be.

Just over a week ago I had the pleasure of being able to serve a delicious 3 course dining experience to a really lovely family. I was so impressed by this husband being able to keep it a secret right up to my arrival. I arrived to voices behind the door saying that must be the pizza. Well played sir, well played.

These are definitely some of my favorite events. It is always a pleasure to be able to take some of the stress out of a special occasion.

A kitchen tea in my favorite Brettenwood Estate last weekend.

Event number two of three that I prepared delicious food for last weekend. I prepared a few tasty treats for a bride to be and her special guests including a few gluten free and vegetarian options to be sure that everyone was catered for.

The menu included
Smoked salmon new potato bites with trout caviar
Potato waffles with sour cream and guacamole
Fruit skewers
Chocolate orange tartlets
Bacon and feta frittatas with herbs

People talk a lot about competition in this industry.

A few months ago I got an enquiry for an incredible opportunity.

Around the same time, a young chef had reached out to me asking about the private chef industry.

We spent ages chatting and I was really impressed by her attitude, professionalism and talent.

So when this opportunity came up, I passed on her details.

That’s all I did.

I mentioned the right person in the right room.

She got the opportunity because she was good enough to earn it.

A little while later, the client messaged me to tell me how amazing she had been.

Then she invited me to join her on a Top Billing shoot and introduced me as one of her mentors.

Standing there watching her succeed was one of those moments that reminded me why I believe in collaboration over competition.

Helping someone else doesn’t take anything away from you.

In fact, some of the biggest opportunities in my own career have come from supporting others.

There is enough room for all of us.

Your wedding day should speak to who you are as a couple shared with your most special people.

On Friday I had the honor of serving a full day of food for a beautiful couples intimate wedding. The bride sent through a list of their favorite foods and I made sure to create a menu filled with everything they love.

We started with a canapé table filled with crab claws, lamb, their favorite cheeses and a few dips including a special dip to represent the grooms heritage.

Later in the day I prepared a 5 course plated meal with additional palate cleansers.

A beautiful group of people celebrating a special union filled with love and laughter.

Wishing them a lifetime of happiness on this next chapter ❤️

You only need two people to start your dining experience with me.

I often get asked ‘do you have a minimum amount for f guests you can cater for?’

The answer is: I have done plated dinners from two guests to 30 and no matter the number every occasion is just as important to me no matter how big or small.

This was the dinner for two last week celebrating date night. I love getting to know my clients and creating beautiful moments.

The vision isn’t always clear at the start but once it’s completed you understand every step.

Last nights dining experience for the loveliest couple for date night.

This was the main course of Lamb rack with butternut purée, potato mieulle fieulle and beetroot mire poix.

My camera decided to go out of focus at the start but it really did remind me that sometimes we lose focus but somehow things always works out in the best possible way.

A 5 course dinner completing a day of delicious food for my guests in Simbithi.

I haven’t done a full day villa service in a while but when a special guest requested this for last weekend I jumped at the chance. It really is something to be a part of all the meals for the day from breakfast to dinner. Menus carefully curated and prepared for a full dining experience.

After a drumming circle this beautiful house was filled with music in the evening as everyone sat down to a well deserved dinner. A fantastic group and a beautiful day.
