There’s something about Florida golden hour engagement session that hits different in the summer. Strolling through cobblestone streets, the last bit of light peeking through the trees, and the kind of laughter that makes you forget the camera’s even there.

Shelby and Johnny - The ALBANOS ✨ Some weddings just feel like home and this one was extra special for Carlos and I because it was our first wedding after just getting married ourselves.

From the very first moments of getting ready, there was a warmth that lingered in every room: laughter, happy tears, and a kind of calm that comes when you know you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Shelby and Johnny’s first look had us all wiping our eyes. Their ceremony, held in a beautiful church off Park Ave filled with soft light and sacred tradition, was full of reverence and quiet emotion. You could easily feel the weight of their promises with every word exchanged.

And then came the celebration. The kind that reminds you how good life can be when you’re surrounded by people who love you deeply. The energy never dipped. Every detail was stunning, from the elegant florals to the soft candlelight and cascading baby’s breath that framed their sweetheart table. And don’t get us started on the dance floor, Shelby and Johnny owned it.

We felt like we were photographing not just clients, but old friends. The way Johnny looked at Shelby. The way Shelby’s joy lit up every moment of the day with her contagious smile and laugh. Their day was stunning from top to bottom and nothing about it was performative, it was all real, all heart. A wedding full of intention, deep love, and the kind of joy that stays with you.

It’s National Bestie Day so I figured it was time I introduce you to my ultimate best friend—my husband, Carlos 🧡

We met in a UCF Facebook group for photographers (how millennial of us), and the first time we saw each other in person I accidentally walked in on him painting a studio wall… shirtless. 🤣 The rest? Pretty much history. We’ve been inseparable ever since—building a life, running our businesses, and capturing love stories and events side by side for over 7 years now.

Carlos is one of the smartest people I know. He loves working on anything that goes vroom—cars, motorcycles, you name it. He’s a total chocoholic, and if it comes in his favorite color orange, he probably owns it or will buy it. He keeps me laughing, grounded, and caffeinated. Our favorite things include: morning coffee runs, sushi date nights, late-night drives in the Vanderhall, watching our favorite shows or movies, and getting ready together before weddings.

One my favorite parts of what we do is getting to work together—whether Carlos is filming and I’m photographing, or we’re switching roles, we’re always cheering each other on behind the scenes.

We’re currently dreaming up a 3-week honeymoon in Europe (finally!) and hoping to bring home a Bernese Mountain Dog in the near future. Life with him is a bigger adventure than I could have ever hoped for, and I’m so lucky I get to do it all with my best friend. 💛

We’re always honored to be invited into any wedding day, but there’s something incredibly special about being welcomed into the intimacy of a home—where the walls hold memories and the atmosphere feels sacred. Witnessing two souls become one, surrounded only by their closest family and friends, while honoring ancient traditions and creating new memories… it’s the kind of experience that reminds us why we do what we do.

Alisa + Javed, thank you for letting us in on something so meaningful. Your day was a quiet, powerful celebration of love in its purest form.

Fair warning this is part one of many many wedding photos over the coming weeks!

Carlos and I are just so blown away by the love and support we received from our families, wedding parties, friends, vendors and industry as a whole. Our wedding day was one that we will never forget and it was truly perfect! We’re so grateful and blessed! Thank you thank you thank you x100,000,000 to our vendors and anyone that thought of us, prayed or us and offered help and guidance. We love you all, we’ll truly never be able to repay you for everything you did to give us the wedding day of our dreams!

Shelby and Johnny tied the knot last week and it was so special because it was our first wedding back as The Romeros. We got to celebrate them along with some of the same vendors that worked our wedding day. I’m finishing up their wedding day previews and am so excited to share. Happy March 1st everyone!! We celebrated the new year and blinked for it to all of a sudden be March. 2025 is flying!!

We wanted to wish our Muslim friends, clients and friendors a very Happy Ramadan Mubarak. For those that aren’t familiar, the first of March begins a month long fasting period from sunrise to sunset for our Muslim friends. Ramadan is a time that is meant to deepen spiritual connection with God through acts of worship, self-discipline, increased charity, and reflection on the teachings of the Quran. It is also a time of togetherness as it is common for friends and families to gather together to spend quality time and break their fast after sunset or begin their day together with prayers before sunrise.

Carlos and I are so grateful to be welcomed into so many different events from across many cultures, languages and religions. We believe it is so important to understand the basis of the cultures and customs we’re entrusted with capturing. We want our clients to know we see you, honor you and love learned from you. Thank you for always inviting us with open arms, honoring us with your hospitality and teaching us with love and grace about your cultures. 🤍✨🙏🏻
