It's that time of year... I've started to lift the first dahlias foe the grow bags to dry of a little indoors before they get brushed clean a bit and likely divided to fit into the Grow Kits.
The pile of seeds to be processed hasn't gotten smaller yet because I keep adding but this weekend haul was probably the last. I think I'll be able to create at least two new editions of the Grow Kit with new types of flowers.
The first two focused on child-safe, pollinator friendly flowers and easy cutflowers for adults to start a cutting patch. I'll have to look closely at my varieties if I can come up with another theme.

This will be end of this years flowers season for me. There was a touch of frost on the dahlias this week and the asters are starting to go over too so it's time to call it. There's still some colour and food for the insects and the odd stem for the kitchen table but I'll soon start digging up the dahlias in the new plot to plant in a new position next year or sell the tubers over winter. Keep an eye out for the grow kits coming back soon.

We still have fresh cut flowers and hopefully will for another few weeks but the nights and days are getting colder and unfortunately any frost will stop our Dahlias and Zinnias.

Due to a new family schedule our flower deliveries at the local shop are changing to Tuesday's and Friday's. We also still have potted dahlias available at the honesty stand. This weekend with some free leftover cutflowers for the first 3 customers to purchase a potted dahlia.

What a great feeling when I see my flowers being purchased as soon as I deliver them to our local corner shop. Thank you to everyone who's buying my flowers!

With the windier & wetter weather now I've decided to stop selling bunches via the honesty stand. You can still purchase a few reduced ones this week and of course potted dahlias. Going forward until the end of the season you can then find my fresh cutflowers at Sam's Nearby Laurelvale.
