This one's Story....

Some mornings weren’t about the ducks.
They were about being out there — just me, my camera, and Montego by my side. In the stillness of the New Jersey swamps, long before the world stirred, we’d watch the sky crack open with color. That golden hour wasn’t just a moment; it was a memory in the making.

Montego was more than a hunting dog — he was my shadow, my companion, and my reason to slow down and take it all in. We didn’t always bring home birds, but we always brought back something: a quiet peace, a shared glance, the kind of connection only a dog and his person understand.

Photography lets you hold on to that. This image? It takes me right back. The scent of marsh grass, the chill in the air, the way Montego’s breath rose like steam as he waited, alert and loyal.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. These mornings, these memories — they’re the ones I’ll always carry.
