There is just something so fun about helping pull off one of life’s biggest surprises! 💍✨

Tonight’s sunset session started as a beach portrait… at least that’s what she thought. As the golden light painted the sky and the waves rolled onto our beautiful Emerald Coast, he dropped to one knee and asked the question that changed both of their lives forever.

The look of complete surprise, the happy tears, the laughter, and that unmistakable “YES!” are the moments photographers dream of capturing. These aren’t just photographs—they’re the first pages of a brand-new chapter together.

I love watching my sweet client's children grow up through the years! Little Ms. Dream didn't want any part of me on Daphne's wedding day, so I had to get creative in capturing her sweet side! Playing dress-up with all that lace and tulle made this little girl's day! And last night she ran along the beach with me as we drew pictures in the sand, chased seagulls, and searched for seashells! You're going to rock 1st grade this year, princess! ::big hugs!::

There is nothing that fills my heart more than seeing my clients come back year after year! 💙

Four years ago, I had the honor of photographing the beautiful wedding of Daphne & Chris on Okaloosa Island. This week, they returned to celebrate their anniversary, and I couldn't have been happier to capture another chapter of their love story.

A regular sunset portrait session… until the mermaid tail came out. 🧜‍♀️✨

And suddenly, we were no longer on the beach—we were somewhere between Neverland and a fairytale. Don’t they look like Wendy and Peter Pan sneaking away for one last magical adventure before sunset? 💫

The sailboat, the cotton-candy sky, the emerald waves, the sweetest little kiss… this whole moment felt straight out of a storybook.

Beach sessions are already magical, but add a mermaid tail at golden hour and it becomes pure childhood wonder. 🌊🧚‍♀️

Nothing like photographing a beautiful family in WaterColor on 30A… getting everyone tucked perfectly into the dunes for those sweet, posed beach portraits, when Dad suddenly looks behind me and says, “What is that?” 🌊

I turned around toward the Gulf of America, and there it was—an actual waterspout dancing on the horizon line. 😳🌪️

Thankfully, I grabbed my radar immediately and could see that moody little show-off was not heading our way, so after a quick impromptu shoreline moment of everyone watching it together, we finished the session like total pros.

You truly never know what’s going to happen during a session with me! 😂

And just for the record, I would never endanger my clients. I’ve been photographing the Emerald Coast for 22+ years, so I know our weather patterns well and can track a drop of rain down to a city block. But that dramatic sky? Absolute magic. Moody beach skies are my favorite. ✨

Beautiful family, beautiful dunes, emerald water, and a surprise waterspout cameo… this one was unforgettable.

When your man lays out a dress and tells you to meet him on the beach at sunset… You don’t ask questions, you just say yes. 💕✨

These two were the sweetest, and this moment was even more special than it looked. What she thought was just a romantic beach evening turned into the vow renewal she had been hoping for ever since their shotgun wedding 25 years ago. Watching them celebrate their love all over again—surrounded by family, laughter, and a whole lot of heart—was pure magic.

Proof that real love only gets sweeter with time. 💍🌅💖
