Everly “helped” me make Elsa macarons. They are vanilla macarons with a lemon black tea Bavarian custard.
Macarons can be a tad nerve wrecking when working with my kids. But I really do want my kids to participate in helping out in the kitchen. It’s not always the fastest or most efficient. Sometimes I have to smile and just let things go (or my husband calls them into the living room to play). But there are a few things that the kids can help with that don’t have a high degree in messing up.
The components I ask they to help is..
1. Measuring the ingredients
2. Sifting the almond flour and powdered sugar
3. Pressing the food processor to blend the flour
4. Slowly shaking in the sugar in the meringue
5. Adding food coloring
6. Helping me stir the custard and fold in the whip cream
