I don’t have much to say about this one. It’s a very simple shot of the moon, pretty different from what I usually shoot. But those soft, wispy clouds around it caught my attention… so here we are.

Somehow it’s been over a month since my last post, even though it feels like last week. Time has a way of slipping by lately. This one’s from our time in the Basque Country, northern Spain. A wet, gloomy day among these beech trees, perfect conditions for this kind of scene. The moss-covered roots and the orange foliage on the forest floor just worked together beautifully.

I’ve been meaning to post this image for over a month, but I clearly underestimated how little time I’d have to do literally anything once our little girl arrived this summer. Dad life moves fast!

This was taken on our last night in the north of Spain before heading back to Barcelona for the final couple of days of our trip last year. The skies were pretty clear, which is never ideal for photography, but we still got some really beautiful light and colours, even without the clouds doing their thing. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my post. Have yourselves a great weekend!

I've been wanting to see this spot again since the first time I came here a couple of years ago in the late fall. I didn't get one of those wild, colourful sunsets I was hoping for, but I did get some decent soft light before a cloud swallowed the sun on the horizon. Guess I’ll just have to keep coming back until I get that perfect sunset.

Hard to believe it’s already been 11 months since our Spain trip. This shot came together on our last night in Barcelona, before heading off to Basque Country in the north. The skies didn’t deliver the clouds I was hoping for, but the golden light made up for it. We stumbled across this random little beach with very interesting boulders, just minutes from where we were staying in Canet de Mar.

As I was setting up the camera, working out the best composition for this scene, my wife strolled right into my frame and insisted I turn it into a mini portrait session before the light disappeared. And really… what kind of husband would I be if I said no to my one-month-pregnant wife asking for photos at the beach while mother nature served us this light? In the end, I’m glad she walked into the frame because this turned out to be one of my favorite shots from the trip.

I visited this location 2 or 3 years ago and spent quite a bit of time searching for a composition, but nothing really spoke to me that day. I knew I’d eventually come
back for another try. Although I enjoy going on photo adventures with like minded people, this time, I went on my own allowing me to slow down and tune everything
out giving me the chance to really connect with the scene. It was also nice to return to what brought me to landscape photography in the first place, shooting
waterfalls which I have not been doing much this past year or two. Thanks for stopping by!

Last weekend, we drove over two hours chasing moody skies to shoot a waterfall—rainy and overcast was the goal. Naturally, the weather had other plans. By the time we got there, it was bright, sunny, and far from ideal for waterfall photography. But the trip wasn’t a total wash. On the way back, we had an incredible surprise, a mama bear and her two playful cubs putting on a show. Sometimes, nature has better ideas than your shot list.

As a Game of Thrones fan, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe was at the top of our list when we got to the Basque Country.
We were greeted with a lot of rain—pretty typical for the region—but got lucky the day we made it out here. The rain eventually stopped, though the sky was still thick with clouds when I took this shot.

Even under a grey sky, the place has a kind of quiet, majestic beauty that hits you as soon as you see it.
Later on, the clouds started to break, and we ended up catching some incredible light and a beautiful sunset. I’ll share those shots in my future post of this location.

Another one from the series I took during our last night in Barcelona back in October. The sun had almost disappeared, and the last light of day brushed over the sand and rocks. The waves kept moving gently around the shoreline — simple, quiet, and beautiful. A peaceful end to a day on the Mediterranean coast.

Oh look at that, I’m actually posting again!
Life’s been a bit of a whirlwind the past year and a half, which made regular posting a challenge, but I still have lots of photos waiting to be shared.

Here’s one from back in January while out shooting with , probably the closest I’ve ever gotten to catching a sunset at Emerald Lake. Not quite the epic one I’ve been chasing, but I’ll take it! At least the fog stayed away and we got some beautiful light.

After our time in Barcelona, we traveled north to Basque Country to explore its dramatic Atlantic coastline and rugged mountainous landscapes. We stayed at the charming Eguzki B&B, hosted by the warm and welcoming Sally and Rober. While Barcelona had blessed us with amazing weather, the rain greeted us upon arriving in Basque Country. Fortunately, Sally recommended a beautiful beach grove near our accommodation, which turned out to be ideal for photography, even on a rainy day.

I've always wanted to try woodland photography, but where I live, there aren't any gnarly trees to spark inspiration. The humid climate of this region kept everything lush, even in October. I was captivated by the vibrant green moss draping the trees, contrasting beautifully with the orange foliage carpeting the ground. We spent over two hours capturing shots in the grove, and I could have easily stayed longer—there were endless compositions waiting to be discovered. Eventually, we tore ourselves away and treated ourselves to some warm, delicious food, a perfect way to end the day.
