Yes, you can absolutely wear hiking boots with your wedding dress! In fact, I highly recommend it!⁣

If you are planning an adventure elopement, the last thing you want is a massive blister ruining your hike. You need shoes that can handle the rugged terrain while still looking incredibly badass in your photos.⁣

I see so many couples stressing over finding the perfect shoe, so I put together a massive guide on my absolute favorites.⁣

If you want that classic, rugged mountain vibe, the Danner Mountain 600 is a total dream. They are waterproof, incredibly stylish, and look so good peeking out from under a white dress!⁣

Are you looking for the ultimate investment piece? You need to look at Blundstones! You can rock them for your vows and then literally live in them long after your wedding day. They are perfect for hitting the dirt trail and then heading straight to a local brewery to grab a beer to celebrate!⁣

And if you are a colorful bride who wants to completely pop against the green alpine landscape, you have to check out the Hoka Kaha 3 GTX. They have this amazing Fragrant Lilac color that is stunning, totally waterproof, and adds such a fun, unexpected vibe to your entire look!⁣

Whatever you choose, just promise me you will break them in before your wedding day!⁣

Ready to find the absolute perfect pair of boots for your adventure? Save this post so you do not forget these brands.

Some people call it crazy to snowboard in a wedding dress. We call it fun!⁣

Let's call this a tribute to the end of the winter season (ironically on a day where it just snowed 10+ inches in the Colorado mountains).⁣

If you want to spend your wedding day carving fresh powder before reading your vows, you are totally speaking my language!⁣

But let's be real for a second. Hitting the slopes in your wedding attire takes a little bit of planning so you do not completely freeze your butt off out there! I want you to actually enjoy every single second of your day, so here is how you pull it off:⁣

🏂 Sneaky Layers Are Everything: Listen, fleece-lined leggings (merino wool is the absolute best!) underneath your dress are a total non-negotiable. Literally no one will even see them, and you will actually be able to feel your toes when it is time to say "I do!"⁣

🧥 Bring a Warm Jacket: You absolutely do not have to wear it in all your photos! But having a cozy jacket to throw on between runs is so crucial for keeping your energy up and staying comfortable.⁣

🌬 Prioritize Movement: If you are going to shred, your wedding attire has to let you move! Skip the super tight fabrics and go for something less restrictive. Bonus points if it flows catches the wind.⁣

❄ Build in a Weather Buffer: Colorado winter weather does not care about your wedding timeline. Whiteouts happen! Always have a backup day built into your trip so we can easily pivot if a massive blizzard rolls in.⁣

That’s why I block off 2+ days before and after every wedding day on my calendar! Those days can be used as 'just in case' days for no extra charge. Yes, that rule even applies to elopements in the summer.⁣

Huge shoutout to .co - A magical a-frame in Salida that sits less than 15 minutes from . Can't wait to come back in September!!

I am posting this because it matters.

What’s happening in Minnesota right now is heavy, and none of it is acceptable. Violence, fear-based enforcement, and harm to communities should never be normalized or ignored.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, angry, or frozen, that makes sense. Witnessing this while trying to live normal life is exhausting. It can also make it really hard to focus on things that are usually life-giving, like creating art or planning a wedding.

If that’s you, you’re not failing. You’re human.

I want my couples, my community, and anyone who finds their way here to know this clearly: This is a safe space. This work, and this platform, do not condone violence or harm of any kind.

I also believe this deeply: love, art, and meaningful celebration are not distractions from injustice. They are reminders of what we are trying to protect. Choosing joy during hard moments doesn’t mean you don’t care, it means you do.

Silence isn’t neutral. And doing nothing takes a toll, too.

If you’re asking, “What can I actually do?” here are a few tangible options:

📞 Call your senators or representatives
You don’t need perfect words. You can say:
“Hi, my name is ___. I’m a constituent calling to demand accountability for what’s happening in Minnesota and to oppose violence-based enforcement. I’m asking you to stop funding policies rooted in fear and harm.”

📲 Easiest option:
Text RESIST to 50409 to contact your representatives in minutes.

📝 Email works too:
Find your elected officials at usa.gov/elected-officials

If you’re able, support people on the ground by amplifying credible local voices or donating to mutual aid and legal support.

And please take care of your body while you’re paying attention. Rest, move, breathe, get outside. Regulation isn’t disengagement, it’s how we stay present without burning out.

This space stands for safety, dignity, and human life. Always. ❤️

Where are my fellow snow lovers at?! This one is for you.

What could be better than taking a chairlift up to the top of a ski resort and reading your vows to your favorite person in the entire world? As someone who chases powder days, I may be a littleeeee bit biased but I can’t think of anything better than a skiing wedding.

In other fun news, snow is on the forecast for this weekend in Colorado and my home mountain is supposed to get 16+ inches! So naturally I thought this would be a great time to remind all of you that I still have room on my calendar for winter elopements before April hits. No, it’s not crazy to plan a skiing wedding in just a few weeks. In fact, I’ve planned entire intimate weddings with 15 guests in less than 7 days before ✨❄️

Do you have questions about a winter elopement or a skiing wedding? Drop it here or in my DM’s! Or you can check out my latest winter elopement blog post for alllll of the details:

I’m a little salty that it’s almost mid November and we have ZERO snow at my house. Do your snow dances everyone because we need winter to start in Colorado already!!

Resharing this magical winter elopement from November 7th to show what it should look like right now 😭

Give me lotsssss of snow, cute dogs in sweaters and booties and badass people who love winter as much as I do. Francy, James and their cute pup, Shelby, stole my heart last year with their 2 day backcountry elopement near Breckenridge ⛷️

Now excuse me while I wait very impatiently for snowboarding season to start ❄️

What if I told you..you don’t have to choose between an intimate elopement and celebrating with your favorite people?! ✨

You can totally have both!

Picture this: Day one is just the two of you. You hop in the Jeep, chase the sunset into an alpine basin where you land at an epic view where you can see for miles. You’re surrounded by nothing except for the alpine air, each other, and the glow of the sunset. No pressure. No timeline. Just the two of you soaking it all in. Then you end the evening sipping drinks next to the campfire and viewing the milky way with your naked eye 💫

Then the next day? You have a slow morning eating brunch and getting ready with your favorite people. You throw on your wedding attire again and have a sunset wedding with all of your guests present without feeling rushed or exhausted! You already had your private, meaningful day. Now you get to relax and enjoy every moment with your people who traveled all the way into the mountains to celebrate with you!

Two days. Two totally different vibes.

Most couples don’t even realize this is an option, but it’s honestly one of the best ways to keep your wedding day stress-free, meaningful, and full of connection.

If you’ve been stuck trying to decide between a “just us” elopement and a wedding with guests… This is your sign that you don’t have to pick one. You can do both!!

Check out the photos to see how other couples eloped AND had an intimate wedding.

What I loved most about Sofia and Matt’s elopement in Ouray wasn’t the epic views (though, trust me, they were unreal 🏔️).

It was how unrushed the whole day felt.

They started slow, coffee in hand,, laughter filling their little Airbnb.
When they saw each other for the first time, it was like time stopped for a second. ☕💛

They hiked through streams, split a PB&J halfway up the trail, and changed into their wedding outfits surrounded by peaks and silence. 🥪

Every part of the day felt like breathing in wild mountain air for the first time. So refreshing, peaceful, and exciting.

There was no strict timeline, just two people following curiosity, joy, and each other.

That’s what makes an elopement special. It’s not about the views, the dress, or the plan. It’s about creating space for the things that make you feel alive.

For Sofia and Matt, that meant hiking until sunset 🌅, sharing vows with the mountains as witnesses, and ending the night under the stars with tacos and cold beers in hand.

For you, it might look completely different. Maybe it’s a quiet canoe ride. 🚣‍♀️
Maybe it’s sharing your favorite trail snack halfway up a mountain.
Or, maybe, it’s something you haven’t even dreamed up yet.

Whatever it is, let it be yours. ❤️✨

… and know that whenever you’re ready to start planning, I’ll be here to help!

Snow-covered peaks. Frosted trees. The world going quiet around you.
Winter elopements in Colorado feel magical, but let’s be real, they’re also cold. 🥶

The good news? You don’t have to freeze to have that dreamy, snow-dusted day you’ve been picturing.

With the right prep (and maybe a few dozen hand warmers 😅), you can stay cozy, comfortable, and completely in the moment.

I’ll bring the JetBoil, you bring your love, and we’ll make the mountains our winter wonderland. ❄️🤍

Where are all my winter-wonderland lovers?! 🙋🏻‍♀️
