Tryna hustle hard AND rest well these next 10 days 👏🏼 baby girls room is getting painted this afternoon!!! Still gotta install the car seat & wash all her cute little clothes. Working on this gallery & 3 others today…

In other words, there is LOTS to do, and my goal is to get it all done before thanksgiving (sorry HOW is that next week?!) but I’m feeling rested & motivated & excited to get it all done! Thankful for a weekend of rest to take away some of the anxiety I was feeling on Friday about it all. 🤍

I hope you move through this week knowing God is WITH you. Let Him be your strength & shield.

I like to think I can do it all. The grocery shopping and keeping the house clean and delivering all the galleries on time & saying yes always to spending time with friends and family when they reach out/need me. I don’t like to let people down. Or maybe I just don’t like to let myself down, since I’m often the only one who’s set these high expectations on myself to do all the things. And then I wonder why I’m in a bad mood/on the verge of tears at the end of a week when I swear pregnancy brain is real and setting in and I’m not doing things efficiently and I can’t remember where I put something and I just sit on the ground and cry for a minute. That’s what happens I guess when you don’t slow down long enough to let your mind and heart catch up with each other. Even late at night my mind has just been racing in bed with all the things that need done. You can function like this for a little while but not forever.

So here’s a little encouragement to the distracted/overwhelmed hearts out there to take a break this weekend or as soon as you can (speaking to myself rn too) - turn off the phone, put away the to do list, get STILL ~ remember what it’s like to exist apart from your accomplishments. Remember who you are apart from your career, your productivity - strip away all the roles you walk in/hats you wear…

For me - when alll those things are taken away, I’m reminded that I am simply a child loved and chosen and pursued and delighted in by God. And my heart melts. My mind put at ease. I give Him the praise He deserved all along when my mind heart and body were preoccupied with little things that make me believe I’m okay/I’m making it. What a cheap sense of fulfillment. I’d trade all of that away for Jesus. Better is one day in His courts than thousands elsewhere. 🤍

Still a few openings left for Christmas Minis this Saturday, November 6th!!

Squeezing in one last day full of sessions before baby girl comes. Will have photos turned around by thanksgiving, just in time for my big Black Friday print sales to order those holiday cards 🙂

I just adore engagement sessions & my couples & can’t believe this is my jobbbb 😍 these cuties got engaged in Chicago, so we headed downtown for those same city vibes. Findlay market was closed so we had the whole place to ourselves. The leaves were jusssst starting to change color. Ended the night sprinting through the rain for some margs. The perfect evening. I can’t wait to document their big day next fall :)

Some (most) wedding days barely even feel like work ~ Caitlin & Bo’s was one of those days 🤍 truly felt like I was just hanging out & celebrating with sweet friends as they said “I do”. LOVE U GUYSS

Ended September with a bang with this beautiful day 🤍 & now closing in on my very last month of weddings before our girl arrives… which will also mark 2 full years of photographing weddings full time!

I could get real sappy but I’ve been trying to find words for over an hour now & my husband just got home with wings sooo we’ll save that for another time 👀✌🏼
