Last weekend at Origins of Raw was such a blast! 🎉 Just look at these photos ;) Do you need my tracklist? Let me know in the comments. 👇 Or keep reading for some trivia instead:
Fun fact #1: did you know I started listening to Hardstyle 20 years already? I was not even a teenager yet! 👶 My big brother sure made me curious for this loud genre with his digital mixtapes.
Ever since then I have had a very special love-hate relationship to this genre. 😅 I will confess, this year I very much fell in love with Hardstyle again. 🤫 Old and new! Defqon.1, Qlimax and now Origins have all made me realize how much potential this style has. (Special shout-out to Devin Wild for blowing my mind multiple times with his approach + not being afraid of dropping a little bit of Drum’n’Bass in the face of a mainstage crowd). 🥴
Fun fact #2: did you know I produced and released a whole bunch of Hardstyle between 2008 and 2014? With a few exceptions, I mostly focused on my other love from 2015 – Hardcore. However, the past years it’s been fascinating to witness Hardstyle become louder, faster and in some ways more diverse than how the style felt to me 10 years ago. So… what does this mean for the future of Wavolizer? Well, DJ-wise, I am still very much available to play both Hardstyle and Hardcore. 🤠 Production-wise? We shall see... All I can say is: I am looking forward to finally create some loud music again after a year of way too many writer’s blocks. 😉
Best wishes to y’all! Cheers to a wonderful 2024. 🙏❤️
