Michela and Liam and their gorgeous blended family 💖🐶 I mean, one of the dogs is literally smiling 🫠🫠🫠what did you say to make that happen ? (The master/dog whisperer 😂)

These two and their story spoke directly to my soul. Meeting at an age when they both knew exactly who they are and what they wanted, coming from different upbringings and life experiences, neither of them could believe how seamlessly it just worked. When you know, you know 🫶🏻 💖

Someone asked me recently if I still loved being a celebrant as much as I did when I started 10 years ago and my answer was ‘I love it even more now’. Cheesy? Maybe, but I stand by it.

Honestly I’m obsessed with this job. I’m so energized by it - the people, the writing, the guests, the families, the feedback afterwards, the creating of joyful vibes. (The feeling of having to do social media - well that’s not so much energizing as…*not* energizing lol but we’re making it work aren’t we? 😂)

Ten years in, I’m working smarter not harder, and in a way that works for my current family life. I’m getting better and better at writing, delivering ceremonies, reading the room, remaining calm in high stress situations.

2025 has seen me deliver 2 beautiful memorials. Doing funerals wasn’t ever what I saw myself doing when I started out, but I felt strongly called to do both and it felt so right for me to be up there on the day and in the lead up. It is such an honour to be trusted with something so important.

All these little evolutions of my business (and my growth as a human) over the last 10 years have really seen my love for celebranting grow to what currently feels like peak levels of love but I think we can go higher 💥💥💥

thank you to my gorgeous couples, families, guests, friends, vendors who keep me in love with this job that began as a mat leave hobby and is now a big part of who I am ❤️ WDW4LYF 💥💥💥

This beautiful passage by Emily Habek from a book I’m reading called Shark Heart spoke to me on a soul deep level. I can’t stop thinking about it and therefore needed a spot on my page ❤️

I’m baaaaackkk 🎉

I mean, I was never actually gone anywhere but when you have 5 months of little to no work each year, every October feels like a re-launch 😂

I feel SO energized once the Melbourne wedding season (usually September - March) starts up each year. I’m back out at my fave venues and new ones, marrying the best people, having magical experiences with my couples and ending each weekend with a full heart.

It also begins the new season of lovely feedback (words of appreciation are 100% my love language).

Some lovely things guests have said post-ceremony in the last couple of weeks since I’ve been back:
- ‘that was so heartfelt but also fun and relaxed’ (yes she actually used all my favourite SEO keywords - should have asked her to leave a review 😆)
- ‘I loved the cheering, it really released something’
- ‘if I got married again, I’d want you do to it’
- ‘I’ve never seen a celebrant like you before’ 😂 I’m not sure if this one was a compliment but I’m taking it as such

If you’re a guest at a wedding I’ve done, please know that every lovely comment or ‘well done/great job’ I get as I’m leaving means the world to me. I drive home feeling like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be✨

Paperwork, but make it East Brunswick 😎

Kelly & Jez got married in a spectacularly joyful ceremony at in a gorgeous room out the back.

For their signing, opted to head to the front bar - just us and their two witnesses - to do their signing.

It was oh so chill and oh so East Brunswick.

Fun fact, I spent much of my courting years with my husband in this very street. We lived a block up from this bar on Lygon St, in a Melrose Place style complex (with a pool🤩) and some weekends we’d discuss how for the entire weekend we had not left the confines of 3056. It met our every need 🫶🏻

It’s so fun to go back past our old complex and walk past the bars and cafes we spent our entire days and nights in (kid free, fancy free) but now as a celebrant (less fancy free 😆) who lives out in the sticks.

captured this inner city wedding goodness ✨

Entering your wedding as a united front feels joyful, modern, and so uplifting 🤌🏻

Whenever couples tell me they’re coming in together I KNOW it’s going to be a vibe.

Guests love it and it’s always a really fun, upbeat start to any wedding.

You get to come in as equals. Hand in hand. Experiencing one of the most magical moments of your life together side by side.

I can let the guests know you’re coming in together and encourage a big, loud, joyful welcome, and you can see the effect that has on not only the couple (exhibit A my darlings Kelly and Jeremy above) but every guest feels it too (exhibit B these glorious, connected guests above).

It feels electric and like you’re contributing it the magic of the ceremony which directly leads into the magic of the whole night.

*No shade on couples who prefer a different entrance. Sometimes it’s important to a family member to es**rt you, sometimes the person/s entering prefer to have their own solo entrance and sometimes one party has imagined being the one waiting at the end for their beloved.

All couples, individuals and situations are you unique and your ceremony should feel true to YOU ✨

This most joyous entrance captured so perfectly by the lovely at with the magnificent blooms by can’t wait to see the video by

✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️ I think we nailed the ‘upbeat, joyful wedding’ vibe ✊🏼

“When I chose your ring, I was drawn to it’s amethyst, as violet has been a symbol of q***r love for over two millennia, and your ring was made in an era when violet also became a suffragette symbol of equality and freedom.

I vow to hold love, equality and freedom at the heart of our relationship” - Felix’s vows to Georgie.

Oooft.

In his vows, Felix referenced:
q***r love ✔️
the suffragettes ✔️
Georgie’s independent spirit ✔️
Georgie’s loving family ✔️
and promised to take equal responsibility for the domestic chores, emotional labour and mental load in their partnership ✔️✔️✔️

I heard audible sobs from the crowd as he read them. It took all of my professionalism to not sob myself.

This was the vows bingo card I didn’t know I needed 💜

How lucky we were to be in the room where it happened ✨

delivered on the fairytale setting for one of the most inclusive, modern and romantic weddings I’ve ever been involved in 💜

MIND WANDERING WALKS ✨ I first heard of this term while reading Johann Hari’s life changing book, Stolen Focus. They’re purposeful walks with nothing in your ears, allowing your mind to go anywhere and everywhere*

Sometimes my mind goes to to-do lists or ‘I must text that person back’, other times I get inspo for an insta post or story or a ceremony draft and yesterday I was mentally creating my 50th birthday celebration (not for 2.5 years mind you lol) and I was so into it I got teary with how lovely it felt.

Highly recommend getting out without earbuds - even leave your phone at home - and see what your clever, profound, distraction free mind delivers.

Today for me it was this post 😂 so here I am showing up and giving thanks to my intuition and mind-wandering-walk spirit guides 😆🙏🏻

*he actually says to leave your dog at home too but how can I explain that to Joey so he comes and helps me stay slow and wandery

CONNECTION ✨ for your guests, a WDW ceremony won’t feel like a sermon or a performance. It’ll feel like they’re *in it*.

I love to acknowledge the guests as a group and make them all feel super special. I also love to shout out to the VIPs present and past. Even if a guest doesn’t get mentioned personally, they’ll know someone who is mentioned by name and that makes them feel warm and fuzzy. As many people as we can make feel part of it, the better.

For the couple, it’ll feel like a warm, relaxed, loving dinner party where they are the hosts but they dont have to do anything, just soak it all up.

I like to think of it as a big circle of loving community where all of us feel connected to each other and to the special-ness of the event we are a part of. How lucky lucky lucky we are ❤️

These magic photos by at to me really capture the connectedness of Tori and Liam’s beautiful community. It is no small thing to facilitate the vibe that carries on through the whole night ❤️

Just a small business owner/love story teller trying to make the most of her premium Canva subscription, always thinking about thinking about what I’m reading next and when I’ll next get to yoga. Forever chasing joy and signs and feelgood feelings (to balance a sense of injustice/woe at world events).

But seriously, what are you watching?

✨NANS AS WITNESSES ✨

Witnessing is the best job of the wedding IMO (super easy but heaps of glory), so if you’ve got a lovely Nan, please ask her!

It is so spesh to see them have their moment up there in front of everyone. It turns everyone - including me - to mush.

As an added bonus, they also tend to have the nicest, most lovely and proper cursive signatures that look really excellent on your certificate.

captured these priceless moments for Kat and Luke

going straight to the pool room ❤️ .evans 🫠✨
