A Curious Arrangement

A Curious Arrangement Cultivation. Design. Alchemy And enduring love of feeling my hands in the dirt. The sense of achievement from planting a seed and watching shoots emerge.

The wonderment in taking waste vegetable matter and turning it into compost... Art, design, photography. Nature, life and death. All celebrated with flowers.

Unique bridal bouquets is a request we’ve had frequently this year. Unusual ingredients, interesting colour palettes and shapes as individual as you are. We’re here for that.

June, July and August are our busiest months in the workshop and onsite. We receive a high number of enquiries at this time too, as weddings are planned twelve months or more in advance. We do respond to every enquiry whether we have availability or otherwise and as much as we’d like to be a part of every celebration which lands in our inbox, sometimes we don’t have capacity.

It’s really disappointing to have to say turn away some lovely opportunities but in order to offer the very best flowers, creativity and service, we need to be fresh and enthusiastic, raring to go. We therefore limit the number of weddings we undertake each year, peppering the rest of the year with classes, 1~1’s and educational opportunities to feed the soul and to evolve in this rapidly altering landscape.

Must do better with posting to socials… but we really are in the midst of a truly busy period. No two years are ever the same, it has to be said. Last year, all of our events were evenly spaced throughout the year. In 2026 however, there is a concentrated spell over the next few months where the majority of events follow on, one after another. Eternally grateful to all of our wonderful clients for choosing us.

We spent Saturday in the very best company flowering for our fabulous Grooms. Having traveled from Australia Adrian and Joel were determined to be married in the rose garden Biblical floods and Force nine gales could not dampen their enthusiasm so we nailed everything to the ground incase the ceremony flowers took flight like Dorothy’s house and landed in Oz. Planned to perfection by the ceremony was timed to fit into a clement weather window somewhere in the middle of all four seasons. What a day. What a collection of wonderful professionals.

Returning home to the flowers today with our busiest few weeks of the year beginning immediately. Sometimes it’s essential to take time out, to slow down in order to speed up. I was unsure about the timing of this little break, but it’s been powerful, restorative and has allowed the creative juices to flow and fresh ideas to percolate to the surface.

It’s been a minute. Life lately doesn’t mean showing up here as often as it used to. There are still as many flowers passing through the workshop - weddings, classes, creative moments, but life’s priorities have shifted and it feels good.

One thing floristry teaches you very quickly is how to think on your feet.

Yesterday’s plan involved a beautiful outdoor installation, but the wind and rain had other ideas. When the weather turns, you adapt, problem-solve, and find a new way to bring the vision to life.

It’s easy to admire the finished flowers, but so much of what we do happens behind the scenes—adjusting designs, reworking plans, protecting delicate blooms, and making sure everything still feels seamless for our clients.

The weather may not always cooperate, but creativity always finds a way.

A reminder that flexibility is just as important as flowers in this job.

Pretty pastels in good light for Morgan and her girls today. It’s always a pleasure to travel along the back roads to - sprawling fields and expansive skies and a wonderful welcome.
