Honoring Juneteenth and the enduring legacy of Black Wall Street. While our restaurants may not be located in Greenwood, we deeply value the impact of its community and culture. We proudly support the black community and celebrate the resilience, strength, and spirit that continued to inspire us all.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, June 19, 1865, when union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas and announced the freedom of enslaved African-Americans, over two years after the emancipation proclamation. We celebrate with you, the freedom, home, and ongoing journey towards equality in America.
Black Wall Street (or Greenwood District) was one of the most proper prosperous African-American communities in the nation, a testament to black entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and support. Its legacy of resilience, rebuilding after the 1921 massacre and continuing to thrive for decades, inspires us to celebrate innovation and perseverance. The history of Greenwood reminds us of our city’s challenges and its potential for unity and progress.
