Imperial Polk Obedience Club Dog Training via group classes in Rally, Agility, Obedience, Scent Work, Tricks, Service Dog Skills.

The IPOC dog training class schedule changes every 7 weeks, and it is always posted on the Club's website's Google Calendar -- http://ipoclakeland.org/

Group classes meet at our Training Center on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during daytime and evening hours. We have ring rental sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings. We also host indoor and outdoor agility trials, rally trials, obedience trials, and seminars throughout the year.

On **July 25**, Imperial Polk Obedience Club (IPOC) proudly hosted an **AKC Temperament Test (ATT)**! The ATT evaluates a dog's natural temperament by observing how it responds to a variety of everyday situations, including social interactions, sounds, sights, different surfaces, movement, and unexpected stimuli. The goal is to recognize dogs that demonstrate confidence, stability, resilience, and the ability to recover appropriately from new experiences.

It was a fantastic day filled with great dogs, dedicated handlers, and wonderful sportsmanship. Thank you to our judges, volunteers, exhibitors, and everyone who helped make the event such a success. Congratulations to all of the teams who participated—we hope you enjoy these highlights from a fun and memorable day!

The Urban Dog class of Session 2, 2026, has successfully concluded, leading to notable advancements in the trust and confidence of dog-handler teams. Three of the class members went on to earn the CGCU title.

Throughout the seven-week program, a significant transformation was observed, with the majority of the dogs becoming more relaxed and reliant on their owners for guidance in distracting urban environments. In addition, it was enjoyable to witness consistent weekly improvement.

Urban Dog will reconvene in Session 6, 2026, due to expected extreme heat during the summer.

If you are interested in this class, please know that dogs are required to have a CGC title. If interested, please contact us for placement on the waitlist.
