Tokyo has become one of the biggest stops on global concert tours, and planning your Japan trip around a show you love is one of the best reasons to visit. Whether it's indie folk, K-pop, or stadium rock, there's almost always someone incredible playing here.
We were honored to have provided recommendations to Icelandic indie-folk band during their recent visit to Japan. With two sold-out shows in Tokyo, they once again reminded us why artists from around the world continue to make Japan a memorable stop on their tours. Thank you for the music, the memories, and for letting us be a small part of your journey. Also a huge thanks to the band for taking this memorable photo with the TripToJapan team and friends 🇯🇵

POV: You discovered Japan’s tropical paradise 🌴

Most people think of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Mt. Fuji when they imagine Japan… but Okinawa feels like a completely different world.

Crystal clear water, hidden beaches, island sunsets, and some of the best beaches in the world ✨

Save this for your future Japan trip ✈️

. Comfortable Walking Shoes 👟
- Japan is a country best explored on foot, so bring a pair of shoes you can walk in all day.

2. Lots of cash 💴
-You’ll want to have some cash ready for spontaneous purchases. Especially in cities outside of Tokyo!

3. Small Towel 🧻
- Public bathrooms often don’t have paper towels, so bring your own to dry your hands.

4. Portable Charger 🔌
- Keep your devices charged while you’re out exploring all day.

5. Eco Bag 💼
- Many stores charge for plastic bags. Bring a reusable shopping bag for convenience and for the environment. Also it’s a great way to hold your trash.

6. Extra Socks 🧦
- You’ll often need to remove your shoes in temples, traditional inns (ryokan), and some restaurants, so bring nice socks.

7. Empty Stomach 🍱
- Prepare to indulge in Japan’s incredible cuisine, from street food to Michelin-starred restaurants.
