Not necessarily, but some things shouldn’t be left to chance 🙂‍↔️

Hotels, popular attractions and special experiences may need to be reserved early, especially during Japan’s busiest travel seasons. But you can still leave room for spontaneous neighbourhoods, restaurants and unplanned discoveries!

The best Japan itinerary gives you security where you need it and flexibility where you’ll actually enjoy it 😌

Are you an advance planner or a decide-on-the-day traveller?

A 16-day Japan itinerary can look perfectly manageable on paper…until you count the hotel changes 😅

Travelling from Tokyo to Hakone, the Kiso Valley, Kyoto and several other destinations means more than train time. You also lose time packing, checking out, storing luggage and finding every new hotel😱

Our Japan itinerary advice?
Choose fewer bases, stay longer and use well-planned day trips. You’ll spend less time moving your suitcase and more time actually experiencing Japan.

Would you follow the original route or simplify it?🤔

⚠️ Japan Travel Update

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck Kumamoto Prefecture on Tuesday at 4:27 PM (JST).

If you’re currently in the affected area, please continue to follow guidance from local authorities and check official sources for the latest updates.

If you experience an earthquake while travelling anywhere in Japan:
• Stay calm and protect your head.
• Move away from windows and falling objects.
• Don’t use elevators during or immediately after the shaking.
• Follow instructions from local authorities and your accommodation staff.
• If a tsunami warning is issued, head to higher ground immediately.

Japan is one of the world’s most earthquake-prepared countries, and clear guidance is provided during emergencies.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected. ❤️
