ARTIST PROFILE

Let’s get to know a little better…

What type of art do you do?
I have a very mixed experimental style, influenced by my upbringing, culture and my personal journey but I will claim the title “Primitive Surrealist”.

When did you start painting?
I started drawing as soon as I learned how to use a pencil but just in the last three years I gave my art my full attention.

Is your identity as an artist separate from your identity as a person?
Absolutely not!

Where do you get your inspiration from?
Good question… a painting for me is a misfire of an idea + an experience + a story worth telling. Get this three together and you get a painting started.

Who is your favorite artist?
There are many. However, Dalí and Basquiat are in the lead.

Does your cultural background influence your art?
Totally, it’s very evident in my work.

What’s your own favourite work?
Which is your favourite child?
